Punta Cana Vacation

I was in Punta Cana for six days and I enjoyed myself completely. The hotel was beautiful and clean. Everyone was very nice and attentive. The staff was my favorite part of my trip. They made our stay very exciting and cheerful. At Melia, we thank staff members [...]. They always made sure that we were enjoying ourselves and even recommended many things we could do like the scuba diving and parasailing too. Over all the experience was wonderful and I would go again in a heart beat.

Entertainment tip: Long walk from hotel

There are many places to enjoy the night. Just make sure to takes cab from the hotel. Although, outside the resort is very safe, the walk to any clubs and bars is alittle far. It's much more convenient to grab a cab and pay $15.00. Also, you can always ask the staff for recommendations to where to party. They're always happy to help.

Good but Horrible

Punta Cana was great. The resort we were at was great. The food, activities, people were great. The hotel room was the worst! First day there nd walked in the bathroom there was hair on the sink. The bolts holding the toilet down was disgustingly yellow (old pee or rust). Mouse or rat droppings on the sink and very visible. The money you pay to stay at Melia Caribe is not worth it. I would have prefeered to grab a blanket and camp out on patio if I wasn't scared of bugs. I loved the all inclusive deal and the people that waited on us but the rooms are like a 2 star hotel.

Beautiful Resort

The hotel was huge and they had little trains to take you around. The ground and rooms were beautiful. The beach and water were very clean. The food was okay but pretty good for DR. All the nightlife and restaurants were near the lobby so it was nice to have a room near there and just take the train to the beach/pool. We went for a destination wedding and it was amazing.

Trip was fabulous! Who can complain???

I'm not sure if it's that my hubby and I are just way laid back but we thought the resort and everything about our trip was wonderful .. We upgraded to the royal service and it was sooooooooo great. Easy check in and easy check out, the room was huge clean and cleaned every morning . The staff and people were so friendly. Got asked twice about timeshare stuff and politely said no and they were fine. Able, was our butler/go to person and was so nice and friendly he made our stay extra special . The food was good ..its all inclusive so we don't expect the ritz lol the dominican one was our favorite and the Thai was also really unexpectedly yummy ! There's a mall within walking distance but most stuff is expensive compared to U.S. Shopping. Bring singles and tip everyone a dollar or two here and there we always do at every all inclusive we go to and it goes a long way. Most importantly enjoy your vacation , relax and soak up the beautiful sunshine !

Very Clean, Great Service, Great Food!

The service is top notch at this resort, staff is extremely helpful and aims to please. There is a great selection of restaurants with great food, and the buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if you chose are also very good. Though the bars and bar staff were great, the nightlife was not very good due to the type of people staying at the resort. Resort is huge so there can be a long walk to get somewhere. There are trains running constantly so if you wait at a stop there will be a train coming your way in under fifteen minutes (took advantage of this especially during the warmer parts of the day.) The beach was beautiful but expect to bothered by about a hundred vendors walking the beach trying to sell you excursions and other garbage. This got extremely annoying! Also the nightly shows were pretty low budget, even though the actors/dancers tried very hard. Excursions: Dune Buggies was awful and a waste of money. Speed Boats was awesome well worth the money.

Nightlife tip: Not Applicable

Night Life is pretty much non-existent here. This is a great resort to go to with children. I think because it is catered towards family the night life is awful. There was a mixed crowd of people but mostly families with young children and elderly.

Great location for the price

Everything is right on the location; Beautiful Beach, Many Pools, Great Restaurant choices, Many bars, Nightly entertainment at the theater, Nightly musical entertainment, Casino, nearby golf, many side trips available, friendly staff. The place itself is huge, but there is transportation available to get around the resort. This location is comparable to other all- inclusive resorts that we have visited in other countries in the Carribean.
