Majestic Elegance Punta Cana - All Inclusive

Went with family, While swimming my 700 dollar Canon Camera was stolen from my beachside cabana. Management says they check employees upon leaving. They only pay employees $50 US a week so it is a thieves den. See other reviews and goi anywhere else

Just returned from our trip and am so happy to finally be home. Can you believe it? I was on vacation in the Caribbean many times and this was the first time I and my family could not wait to get out of there! The Service was so, so... and the staff was quit rude. The food was edible but not at best and the fruit was over ripe and some spoiled. The cleaning people did not do a good job of cleaning. The hotel still under developmnt , the pool on the south side was not working and the answer was "we do not know when will it be fixed". Four days in the row we were not able to sleep since the constraction work. I will never go back to this resort again. I wasted alot of money and a full week of vacation time...

Resort facility was overall pretty clean. Service staff was inconsistant but most were friendly and nice. The beach was over crowded with chairs but the water was clear and blue. However, the food was terrible. Buffet is your only choice for breakfast and lunch. Most of the food selection tasted like frozen meal just re-heated. If you're travelling with kids, your dinner options are limited as well. The french restaurant doesn't admit child under 12 and the steak restaurant is available to 'Club' (adult only) guests. Good news is we all lost weight because we limited our eating. If the food was better, I would have given this resort 3-4 stars.

We have mixed feelings about our stay at Hotel Majestic Elegance. The accommodations and service were outstanding. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were spacious and the pool was great. The food could stand a little improvement, but it wasn't bad. However we do have two complaints about the hotel. The first one and lesser of the two complaints is that they overbooked the hotel. When we arrived, even though we prepaid for our stay, they didn't have any rooms for us. We are a family of five so we had two rooms "reserved". Their solution was to put us in a very nice suite at their less expensive sister hotel for 2 nights (Hotel Majestic Colonel). We were allowed to use the facilities at both hotels and they gave us $400 spending money for our inconvenience. Since it is an all inclusive hotel, the only place you really can use the money is at the spa and on bottles of wine at the restaurants. While we would rather have stayed at the Majestic Elegance with the rest of our party of 30, it was manageable and we still enjoyed our stay. The unacceptable problem we have wasn't discovered until two weeks after we arrived home. We spent a little more money in the spa than we had credit for so we had a small balance to pay at checkout. We didn't have any USD on us and their credit card machine was "broken" so they told us we could use the cash machine in the hotel to get cash to pay the bill. We used the cash machine and paid our balance and left. A couple of weeks after we were home, we noticed four withdrawals from our savings account that totaled almost $1000. The point of sale was the Dominican Republic. We notified our bank and they believe someone had a device attached to the machine that collected our card information and pin number. They were able to create a new card and used it to withdraw money from our account. We tried to notify the hotel, but they didn't respond. In short, I'm not sure I would stay here again, but if you choose to, DO NOT USE THE MONEY MACHINE IN THE LOBBY!!!!.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff is nice and helpfull, if they understand you, most don't understand english, the food was great, now I gave only 2 stars because we were 10 people and we had 3 rooms and there was only 4 beds for all of us it took the staf 3 days of our stay to straiten this out (we stayd only 7 days) now that was still exceptable but one night there was a fire on the 2fl.(one of our rooms was on 3 and two rooms on 4th fl) everything was full of smoke and we just heard people yelling get out so we had no idea what was going on until we woke up(it was 5am) and looked outside the door, there was no fire alarm that went off(dont get me wrong there is firealarms on the walls everywere but non of them work in this case),there was not one single worker doing anything, there was such caos, one male from our group and another guest put out the fire, the staff started coming at about 7am(the whole building would have burned to the ground if it was up to them) and they just starded cleaning up and covering the tracks that there ever was a fire, there was no apoligy or anything from the hotel, one more thing , our rooms were never cleaned right, they took the towels did not bring new onece, they cleaned very late even though we requested the room to be cleaned in the morning(and we did leave allot of tips but same thing)

The hotel was indeed majestic. You had to walk a long distance to get to all the amenties available because everthing was so spread out. If walking is a problem this hotel is not for you. I did not like the segregation of the "normal" population from the "elite" population of the Majestic Elegance club members. This population should not be on the same grounds. The food was abundant, lots of selections, unfortunately it was not very good. Liked where I stayed last year MUCH better.

Be careful when you book online...I thought I had booked our trip for MAJESTIC COLONIAL--a well established resort and the mirror image of Majestic Elegance. Only when we arrived did we realize that we were booked into Majestic Elegance--the sister resort that has only been open for 3 months, is still working out the kinks of operation and has a rating of 3.6--not 4.6. We chose it specifically for the children's program--VERY disappointing. Pools nice but COLD. Beach beautiful. Service fine. Rooms nice, but if you are with small children, arrange a room AWAY from the front of the resort--VERY noisy. Restaurants okay--mediocre--Italian NOT good--esp with kids. Apparently, Majestic Colonial has better food and service. Who knows--we won't go back.

The hotel is beautiful. The beach is outstanding and great location. The waiters and bartenders were very nice and polite, they would go out of their way to help out. Now the bad things, the housekeeping staff was terrible. They would clean the room at different times which made it hard to relax in the room after the beach since they needed to come in and clean. Would be very skimpy with towels, you get two bath towels and one hand towel. Would take very long to come if you call about extra towels or to clean the room. The hotel is an open air deign, in other words the hotel lobby is open no ac, plus most of the hotel area. The nice lobby bars are all very hot and not a lot of ventilation thru them. Not very pleasant to sit there in your nice clothes and be sweating because it's 90 degrees. I understand a poolside bar or lounge but this is where they play mucic and you have a beautiful bar to hang out. Also the food was very poor in quality. The fancy restaurants they have have mediocre food that are lacking in taste. They are very skimpy in their portions and are kind of eager to move you along, kind of rushing you out. Also be prepared to be eaten alive by mosquitos. When you are out trying to enjoy the nightly shows sweating beacuse it's outdoors and then you have mosquitos bitting you like crazy. We had to buy bug spray at the shop in the hotel for $17 for a small spray can. The worst was when we had some mosquitos got into our room at night and in the morning we were bit in multiple places. I don't recommend this hotel, if you don't mind beign constantly hot, or if you plan on hanging out in your room then you are ok then. Also the pools close at night, no swimming after hours.

We stayed here for 10 days with family and friends approx. 15 people. At first glance it seems incredible but as time goes on the food is mediocre, staff overall accomodating. The beach is extremely crowded. Towels are an issue, as my daughter said, "we have to manage our towels on vacation:" You have to hold on to these room key type things and trade for towels and at the end of the day turn the towels in and get the card back, most of the time they did not have cards or you had to wait on towels. Drinks were strong, no problem getting served great drinks. The resort is extremely large and you felt like you were walking a couple of miles from the beachto the lobby. But all and al a decent vacation

I had greater expectations when I booked my family vacation at Magestic. The scenary beach was amazing. However the buffet services and room comfort was not up to the standards I had in mind. All the food in the buffet was opened and attracted many flies onto it. Seeing the flies on the food made me lose my appetite. The comfort level in the room was not great. The air conditioner was not working in my room and I felt hot the whole time. Not only that, there were ants in my sink, champaigne glass and jacuzzi. The elevator kept breaking down, and I was on the fourth level of the quad. I wasnt too pleased with my stay since it could have been a lot better.
