Majestic Elegance Punta Cana - All Inclusive

My boyfriend and I just returned from a week-long vacation at the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana, D.R. We can't stop talking about what a wonderful time we had. The room was breath-taking - marble floors, a huge 4-poster bed, a 2-sink vanity with separate toilet and shower stalls, lots of closet space, a safe, a large jacuzzi in the room, a balcony with a great view, and best of all, CLEAN! The room was cleaned immaculately every day (floors mopped as well) and the fridge was also filled daily with fresh water and soda. The staff was very friendly with an "Hola!" around every corner. The grounds were gorgeous with beautiful landscaping filled with palm trees and fountains. The restaurants were delicious and the nightly entertainment was very enjoyable. Add all this to the natural beauty of the beach, the meandering pool, and the 74 - 80 degree temperatures and it is one fantastic vacation. The only negative experience we had was in the casino. We've been to many gaming facilities in the U.S. so we're quite familiar with how the games worked. At the Elegance, we only played roulette which was wonderful at first ($1 min., $20 max on the inside) however, the dealer would spin the ball so fast we had no time to place a bet on 6 numbers, let alone 20. Roulette is a relatively relaxing game, allowing pleasant conversation at the table. At THIS table, there was barely time to breathe. Other than the casino, everything else was truly elegant.

I was a little reluctant at first being that this was my first time in Punta Cana. I'm quite suspicious by nature so I researched several hotels before picking the Majestic Elegance. This hotel seemed very nice and the bad reviews were a minimum compared to others so I booked there. And being that it was my first time out of the country, I didn't expect the hotel to be a 5star as it claimed... Honestly, it was a 5star hotel. Fantastic. My wife and I didn't go with any pretense just with thoughts of relaxation. I must admit the arrival in Punta Cana airport was a little confusing and the language barrier didn't help nor did the frenzy of men trying to grab your bags and take them to their taxi. However, once you get through that mess and in the hotel it was smooth sailing. I upgraded my room to a jr. suite when I booked online and it was definitely worth the extra $50. A minibar, jacuzzi, deck, it was great. And it was very clean. The only bad part was the toilet, it was square and just weird. The seat was broken, too, but it was fixed after the first maid service. I didn't even tell them! That's when I knew it was going to be a good vaca. It was. 87* everyday with a warm tropical breeze. White sand beaches. My wife and I went from the room to the beach, to the pool, the eat, back to the beach, to the room for a nap, then to dinner, and then to the bars. So much fun, the people were terrific especially the MC's and their promo team who kept the fun going all day and night without being annoying. They had some very good musical performances, the shows were B class, but still solid entertainment. I think that they can improve the overall experience by providing the promotional team the ability to change into different clothing for specific performances. This team worked their butts off and put on entertaining promotions and shows al day all night wearing the same or similar clothes - jeans and a staff T shirt. Let's Go Management! Get into the game and invest some money into your team!!! I don't remember their names except for their nick names - skinny mini, coffee, chocolate, and Sosa. These guys were excellent, now invest in them! Everything was great, but there's always room for improvement so I give it 4 stars

Came here for 5 days solely to enjoy the beautiful caribbean and got exactly what I hoped for. Food turned out better than expected also!

This was our second visit to Majestic Elegance and was even better than the first. Celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary and couldn't have been treated any better. Would absolutely go back again and again to this resort. The rooms are so beautiful and large and very clean. The food was really good no complaints, Steakhouse Restaurant was my favorite. Mimosa's at breakfast, bloody mary's mid morning, tequila sunrises mid afternoon & great wine at night couldn't ask for anything better lol.

We've been to other Punta Cana inclusive hotels and the Majestic Elegance was by far the best. The experience we had was as if we were on a cruise ship but on land in regards to eating and drinking. Food all day and top brand liquor. The location of the beach being within a few feet from the pool was ideal. Less than a 2 min walk . The pool was pristine and all day activities was enjoyable and gave us an opportunity to meet new friends. The hotel staff treated us as if we were royality. They were all very friendly and always greeted with "Ola". we are going to book this vacation again but we are bringing our good friends with us next Jan. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

My wife and I made a last minute decision to getaway this year for our anniversary. In trying to select a location and resort we researched many destinations and reviews. Our research lead us to choose Punta Cana and the Majestic Elegance hotel. We were not disapointed all the reviews and ratings were spot on. The hotel and resort grounds were breath taking and the staff was outstanding. I would highly recommend staying here and if you never tried surfing try taking a lesson at Macao beach my wife and I did and had the time of our lives.

The Majestic Elegance is a great hotel for couples especially if you stay in the Club section. There is a quiet private pool area and private beach as well. The suites are very spacious and well appointed. The food overall is good and the staff aims to please. The beach is beautiful with plenty of chairs available at all times.

We were totally impressed with everything about the hotel, except the food which was generous and well presented, but not as flavorful as a good shef could make it. Otherwise the beauty, the beach, the luxurious room blew us away. Great surpise and fantastic time and value.

This was our 7th time in the DR and first time at the Majestic Elegance Club. We previously stayed at the Bahia Principe and Royal Suites (adults only). First the negatives: 1. The room was musty. This is probably due to the air conditioning setup. The resort employed motion detectors in the room. If there was no motion, the AC and most electricity shut off. This allowed for the humidity to regularly increase. I vividly remember walking on the room floors and it sounded like my shoes were wet. I'm not sure how to solve the problem other than to get rid of the sensors and maybe get ceiling fans to circulate the air. We brought a Glade Plug-In and that solved the musty smell problem. 2. The entrance to the resort and athletic fields. We did not use them (tennis, basketball, . . . .), but they looked terrible. The grounds were not kept up and the view from the fields was of the employee building and maintenance area. It was not very "Majestic" looking. This was a very minor point for me. 3. Too many beach chairs. It was difficult to navigate around the chairs. 4. Pepsi . . . .enough said. Positives: 1. Hotel management. We had a late arrival and we emailed the management. They responded within 12 hours confirming our reservation. I tried emailing the Royal Suites and never got a reply. I was very impressed with the management. 2. Private Club Check-in: Smoothest check-in we've experienced. The personal tour of the property was nice. 3. Elegance Club Lounge: I was not expecting how nice this was. There were at least 3-4 "Club" buildings. Each building had its own lounge with internet access, a butler (who was always on site), snacks, drinks, lounge, books, games . . . .The lounge made us feel very special. 4. Staff members. Friendliest of all the resorts we've been to. We tipped regularly (didn't notice many others tipping this year), but did not notice a difference in service when comparing what other guests got. 5. The beach was not crowded. I walked down to the Bahia Principe and noticed a huge difference in guest density. The resort is one of the most northerly resorts in Punta Cana. There is a vacant lot south and 2-3 more resorts north. The beach vendors were 2 miles south. 6. The main lobby was awesome. Very "Majestic" looking. Other points: 1. Beach towels: All the other reviews are true. 2. Square toilets. Different, but I wonder if we'd be saying the same thing about round toilets if we were accustomed to square ones. 3. Food: Average. They did, however, had the best filet of the three resorts we've been to. 4. Room temperature: AC worked well. There is a minimum setting (21.0 degrees C). No ceiling fans.

the resort is fairly new 2010, we swtayed in april of 2011. the pool is huge, the staff is great. they don't all speak english but they understand most of what you are saying.the food was very good at all the restaraunts. there is something for everybody and i am a picky eater. the guests were from all over and very friendly. we are planning to go again, i would recommend to anyone.
