An oceanfront resort on a beautiful shore, Majestic Colonial Punta Cana - All Inclusive provides all-inclusive options for families who love variety and couples alike. gorgeous but unenjoyable
The staff was so nice and full of energy. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The room was nice and had a jacuzzi right on the terrace as well as in the room. The pool was enormous with a swim up bar, but... The food was so horrible we couldn't even enjoy our trip. It started off not being great but then got us both terribly sick to the point we couldn't even leave our room!!! Great price but not worth not being able to enjoy ourselves or the island!!!

frustrated couple
This hotel is beautiful and full of atmosphere but the rooms layout is terrible. this resort is very large and requires a long sweaty walk to everything and buy the time you get there you need to sit down and rest. If you are in a room close to the beach , you are a half mile walk away from the front desk and if you can't get in your room for a lost or forgotten key, then you have to make that walk all the way back to the front desk then to that room again. No service is provided for the not so fit, or elderly who tire easily. WE who are both in our late 40's early 50's found the walking distance between any activiy made enjoying that activity much less appealing... We stayed in our rooms more than we went out

get lots of small bills I reccommend 50 single dollar bills for tipping 5,10s for shopping. the hotel does not have change. the ATM there will only despence Pesos for a small ATM charge of 12 US dollars and you will end up giving a bigger tip than you intented or not be able to give a tip at all for a lack of change. and haggle for a better price on everything you buy

Many guests had stomach problems while we were there including myself. Beach towels were taken from my son by housekeeping staff when they cleaned his room and we were told there would be a $25 charge per towel if not returned. After talking to front desk staff, they said that there was nothing they could do, we demanded to speak to the manager and the next day towels were delivered. Remote controls do not work in rooms. Beach was beautiful and the food seemed OK but something made me and a lot of other people sick. We were there for a wedding (30 people) and at least half of us had experienced stomach problems.

Next trip will not be to Punta Cana
Room reservations not guaranteed
We reserved an oceanview room - none were available when we arrived. The pool view room we were given had a water leak causing our bathroom to be flooded - 2 days before it was fixed (literally 3 inches of water standing in the bathroom). We demanded another room, and were moved to the oceanview room we originally reserved - the room safe didn't work and we had to have our door fixed twice as our room keys didn't work. All in all, we spent the first full 3 days of a 7 day vacation dealing with room issues (even missed dinner with the family one night). The hotel manager's solution was he would provide us with a letter to provide to [...] so we could request a reimbursement and only be charged for the pool view room instead of the oceanview room for the first 2 nights (that should've been "a given"...why should we pay for a room we didn't receive! For our 3 day's of inconvenience and wading through water to use our bathroom, we were given a complimentary 25 minute massage - the massage was great, but not worth the 3 days of frustration!

One of the best
My wife and I have been to Punta Cana 3 times and we both agree this has been the best of the 3. The pool is amazing and the beach was just beautiful. The service was great and the people were very helpful and friendly. In most all-inclusive resorts the food is average. The Majestic by far was above average. Great place to get away and relax.

The beach - Just walk a little to the right toward the Elegance hotel. There is no rocks in the water. It is pure sand. Go between the Majestic and the Elegance.

Lovely
The hotel, grounds, beach are beautiful and the beach extends in either direction for miles, great for walking. There were buoys/ropes for swimming areas, which seemed much too close to shore, with boats travelling fairly close to shore just outside the ropes. This phenomena seems more of a Punta Cana thing, not just this hotel. The pool is enormous, with volleyball, bar, etc and a kid's pool. Although there were 6 or so restaurants with different menus, the food seemed to get a bit similar. We loved the breakfasts; fresh fruits, juices,a smorgasbord that left us not wanting lunch. The staff were all very friendly, there are shops, entertainment nightly. The hotel offered many water equipment for free use - kayaks, windsurfers, snorkels, even catamarans. Punta Cana is away from the 'real life' of the DR; that's no complaint against this hotel, but consider what you are looking for in a Caribbean vacation. There were tour assistants in the hotel every day for excursions. A nice place.

The beach is a walker's heaven - miles. The hotel offers a very big selection of water equipment. There's easy travel for horseback riding on the beach and snorkeling trips.
