Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda Don Pablo Collection- All Inclusive

It was a wonderful experience. The hotel was immaculate, the grounds were well manicured. The food was above our expectations and the drinks were top shelf. The three pools were easy to get to and had enough chaise lounges for everyone. We plan on returning next year with our family!

First of all I was leery of going to the DR. What I say now is that it was a wonderful experience. Just got back today 5-12-13. WE stayed at the Bahia Principe Esmeralda. It is an incredible hotel. The rooms, staff, beach, pool, food, location and entertainment are all superb. Our room was a Jr. Suite near the pool. It was enormous. The bath had a glass shower, seperate commode, dual sinks and a raised jacuzzi tub. It had a king bed , balcony and sitting area. TV which had several US network stations. Bottom line incredible place .

overall very good and would freely reccommed this hotel. We are frequent travellers and would put this experience up there with hotel that are 400 plus a night in the area. The good...... the room the size and the jet tub many english speaking channels availible on TV patio and view ask for villa 90 you will be right at the beach. The beach.... excellent only saw wait staff twice during five day stay. the food..... great buffet resturaunt can be hit or miss we didn't like itailian but love habatchi. the staff....... pleasant and plentiful many spoke poor if any english the grounds excellent The bad....... the room... we wanted a king but had to settle for 2 double beds one of which were broken. the beach..... just like every other resort have to reserve chairs by 6 am. the food....... resturaunts close early room service menu is poor. the staffhousekeeping often had attitudes and you had to almost beg for washclothes.

This hotel in the Gran Bahia Principe would be my recommendation for your vacation. The location to the beach and food are easily accessible. There is more than enough to do for families at this resort.

This hotel deserves their 5 stars. Excellent facilities, food and rooms. The staff always goes the extra mile to make you feel that you are special. We definitively go back

Very nice place, right on the beach. To clarify the resort layout, there is a complex of five Bahia Principe hotels here, and the Ambar and Esmerelda are the nicest and the ones that are closest to the beach. Ambar is adults only. Service is good, most are friendly. Food is good, although a notch below gourmet (to be expected). All-inclusive aspect was really nice; all restaurants are basically buffet, with very good selection. Those that are designated "a la carte" are just a la carte for main course. Drinks are included, it was nice to have bottomless wine glasses at dinner. Based on location, resort quality, and all-inclusive aspect, I was very happy I picked this one

Overall very nice hotel. Great beach athough very crowded and no beach service which I can understand considering the amount people staying at all 5 Bahia hotels week of Feb 23 to March 1st. I had stayed previously at the Bahia Principe Bavaro before the Esmeralda addition and prefered the Esmeraldas. They have a bus/train service which has 3 lines... More complicated than the New York subway system but gets you where you need to be. Loved the room I was staying in - Buidling 92 first floor. Very big and comfortable. About a 3 minute walk to the beach. About a 2 minute walk to the pool and lobby.

Our stay was overall pretty good: beautiful beach, nice hotel, nice staff. However, 3 out of the 4 people in our party got sick on our 4 night stay. NOT GOOD. The food tasted good, but was not good in the end. Be careful of what you eat!!

The beach and weather were amazing which ultimately made the trip worthwhile, however the food was terrible and the drinks were sub par. I think if you knew how to work the system and only went to the better restaurants and better bars then you could make this hotel work - a B+ perhaps. But when I am on vaca I want food/drink that is better than a college dining hall, so I won't be returning to this hotel. Depends what you are looking for in a resort.
