Heavenly Spot
This is literally heaven on earth at an affordable price, with a variety of choosable extra activities. There is everything to do or nothing to do, depending on your mood or preference, which admittedly might vary day to day. The weather is fabulous and free of humidity, with a soft breeze to cool you. If you are adventuresome, you can even learn to do the merengue!

It was a great getaway and fun!
I had no problem at the hotel. The food was adeqate and plentiful. The staff was superb. The resort was very beautiful and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay.I celebrated my 70th birthday there.However, I was very angry at the way American Airline cancelled our 7:25am flight to 1:30pm. If we had been informed before hand we could have remained at the resort. Older people and children should not have had to endure this at a small airport hardly capable of fulling our needs. Oh yeah, they gave us a $10 voucher at Wendys (I don't eat fast foods).At 1:30pm 2 planes left Punta Cana. Many people said this was the worst trip they ever had. And they new before hand about the delay but just didn't inform us.It is a 2hr flight from Punta Cana to Miami and 42 minutes from Miami to Orlando.I got home in Orlando at 9:30pm. I was overly exhausted and dis-oriented[...]

The best vacation!

Amazing time, amazing resort
IBEROSTAR PUNTA CANA resort. This was my second time to this resort within 5 months. I am planning of going back there soon again. The staff, the food, the entertainment are amazing. I have been to the Iberostar hotels chaing three times and from now on I will only be staying to an Iberostar hotel anywhere I go.

excellent resort
wonderful atmosphere, very clean, great buffet, friendly staff, beautiful beach, good service I took two excursions with Amstar (apple vacations) with the same guide, Jose, who spoke perfect English and gave much valuable info about the country. I recommend both tours for those interested in more than sun and sand. The first was an all day tour to the capital, Santo Domingo, driving through Higuey and LaRomana before the expressway drive to Santo Domingo on the completed part of the expressway- see oldest cathedral in the Americas, house of Diego Columbus, Columbus Light House. etc The second was a less distant drive to the LaRomana area to visit Altos de Chavon which included lunch on a 45 minute boat trip on the Chavon River. This trip also included a fascinating visit to the largest tobacco factory in the world and to the ballpark in La Romana which hosts one of the Dominican league winter league teams. These tour were the best days of my 10 days in the Dominican Republic. You haven't really visited the country if you spend all your time at the resort.
