Lovely, relaxing beach vacation
We had a wonderful time at the Iberostar Bavaro. I really can't say a single bad thing about this hotel or the experience. Yes, the hotel rooms are a little dated - who cares. They are still in good condition and meticulously cleaned daily. The grounds are prestine and there are always workers around grooming or fixing up things. The staff is extremely attentive. When we wanted the mini-bar filled they showed up in minutes. When our safe didn't close, someone came immediately to fix. The service was really great - I was surprised in fact at how good it was. Bartenders new our names and our drink orders - there was never a long wait. We tipped nicely but honestly we didn't see a lot of people tipping like we did and there was still great service. The restaurants are decent. If you are a foodie they will leave a lot to be desired. We are sort of foodies so it was tough a few nights with some of the restaurants, but I sort of expected that from an all-inclusive. The best restaurant was the Gourmet. I did not like the Japanese restaurant at all - the food was cold and bland. The Mediterranian was not my favorite either. The breakfast buffet was decent. Honestly we weren't there for the food so I could deal. The shows at night are a bit on the cheesy side but definitely entertaining. Don't expect a Vegas show but it is quality and the entertainers work hard. Since we knew a lot of them from hanging on the beach during the day it was fun to watch them perform. Kids I think would love this place, although we didn't bring the kids this time. The casino is a total bust! At least for us :( The nightclub on site is not what you might find elsewhere but if you like to dance they play decent music. We were exhausted from beaching it all day so didn't really stay out at night. I played tennis one day which was okay. Unless you have someone to play with (my partner doesn't play) I didn't feel it was worth bringing my raquet down there. Overall it was a great resort with a lot of attention to the client. The pool/beach animation staff was awesome and really ehanced the experience. The bar staff was fun and accomodating - suggestion: bring your own mugs/cups for them to fill when drinking on the beach. Best idea we had! Stays much colder and cleaner (no sand) then the plastic cups they give you. The beach is great - no one trying to sell you stuff! Get down there early to reserve your spot though, as it fills up early. Resort felt full but not crowded. Make restaurant reservations early otherwise you end up eating at 9pm or later. Can't wait to go back and take the kids!

Iberostar Review
This is my second time staying at an Iberostar, although the first one was in Mexico. The Iberostar in Punta Cana measured up to my expectations. On the other hand it doesn't take much to make me happy. As long as the beach is nice, the food is good and there are plenty of water based activities then I am satisfied. This hotel was five stars in all these respects. My one complaint if it can be called that is that the food started to taste a little bland by the end of the trip. A lot of that can be attributed to the fact that I was there for 8 days and after that long of time period any restaurant food will probably start to taste that way. On the plus side there was a variety of different restaurants at the resort and the service was exceptional at all of them. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nightlife tip:
In Hotel
When it comes to nightlife the hotel really didn't have one. The place seemed to start dieing down around 9 and by 11 there wasn't much activity going on. There is a discotheque and sports at the resort that most of the younger crowd migrated to by the end of the night. Most nights it had a decent crowd but to me it didn't hold much appeal.

Fantastic vacation
This resort is big and very clean. Walking from rooms to beach was not bad either. Staff was very friendly, smiling and singing all the time. They provided alternatives for paid ocean activities even on red flag weather condition, which was a fun too. Long story short Best Experience.

Awesome trip!!!!
The staff was wonderful!! The grounds were beautiful!! We lost a purse and someone turned it in at the hotel And we left a wallet w/ money and camera inside on the boat that took us parasailing. And they found us walking on the beach to return it with everything still inside! For me that spoke volumes about the people there!!! We will return!!! Punta Cana & the iberostar bavaro were the perfect getaway! Very kid friendly too!!

Great relaxing vacation
When we arrived we were immediately upgraded to the grand hotel (adults only) absolutely for free! The staff is extremely friendly and everyone cannot do enough for you. Room was cleaned twice a day. Anything you needed was just a phone call away and brought to You within 15 minutes. Pool was nice but it was all about the beach. Absolutely amazing! Great live nightly entertainment and shows. Good food. But above all the the staff really make your stay incredible. Can't wait to go back soon

Great Resort, Great Vacation
My husband and I have taken beach resort vactions for the past five years in a row, and the Iberostar Bavaro Resort in Punta Cana is by far one of the most enjoyable beach vacations we've had. Being that we've traveled to eight different countries and have seen spent time on beaches on the east and west cost of the United States, including Hawaii, we're admittedly picky about the quality and cleanliness of our resorts and beaches. Not only were the beaches and crystal waters picturesque, the resort and grounds were magnificently kept. The housekeeping and groundskeepers were always hard at work and the activities, wait staff, and bartenders greeted us warmly singing and conversing pleasantly as they endeavored to assure our needs were met and that we were having fun. As for the food the presentation, variety of options in the buffets and restaurants should receive a 5 out of 5! I have digestive problems and gluten intolerance and had more than enough options to choose from at each meal. We would definitely return to the Iberostar Bavaro In Punta Cana!
