Don't Bother going to Bavaro IFA Villas and Resort

This was the worst Punta Cana resort I've been to in 30 trips to PC. Food was awful, and a la carte restaurants require reservations , Meals there worse than at buffet. Omelets at breakfast buffet were best thing we had to eat. We mostly ate at poolside pizza restaurant. Guests smoke in pool, restaurants, all public places. Hard to avoid inhaling their smoke. House wine was undrinkable. Most alcoholic drinks were watered down or sugared up. Staff was pleasant except for towel lady at big pool. Loudspeakers at poolside could break your eardrums. Rooms are clean but don't provide tissues or places to hang wet swimsuits.. Lamps near beds provide not enough light to read by. Would definitely not return.

I never ever go there again!!!

I was so dissapointed! Food is discasting! No sea food, didn't taste right. My mother and I got food poisoned. The room didn't have clock, iron, even the simple paper tissure(kleenex). They never change bad linens . The front desk wasn't so helpful @ all. I can go on and on.... I am not the spoiled girl,I know the difference between good and no good resorts.I've traveled a lot. Another words, this place was so far away from four stars!!!!

"Buyer's remorse"

Previous trips that I have taken the staff was so accomodating and friendly. At this hotel most of the staff didn't look at you as you passed them walking. They were so rigid and that's the last thing I need on vacation are strict rules (like no coffee pot in the room) yet our young neighbor's to the left kept us up until 4 o'clock in the morning and when we complained all that was said was well they are checking out today. The beaches were beautiful and the pool was nice that was the best of the vacation. The food was prepared well, but it was difficult getting into the specialty restaurants. All in all I was glad I went but because of the bad experience have no desire to return. The website stated that there would be a coffee pot in the room and there was not. No american style coffee available at all.

Be prepared....

Be prepared to bring lots of cash with you. Extra activities on the water or outside the resort will be at least $50 and up. Also, plan on waking up around 8 am everyday to make reservations at one of the "fine-dining" restaurants but I say just sleep in and stick with the buffet. The beach was nice, lots of palm trees....but there are boats everywhere!! And of course barely any rules so these boats are going every which way. Be sure to stay in the area that's sectioned off for swimming or you could easily get hit. We stayed at a "villa"...but I regret not taking the upgrade. If you're looking for a more modern feel pay the 8 bucks per person....

All the vendors pretty much sell the same stuff...They're all extremely pushy and it becomes a bit off-putting, so get in and get out, quick!

The good, the bad and the really ugly

We were staying from the 22 thru the 27 and we checked out the 25th before 12:00 and moved to other hotel. Too much noise in the rooms areas after 9:00pm, loud music around the pool, poor towel services in the bedroom and in the spa. The personnel at the reception is not customer service oriented. The rooms are not very clean. I also have to say that the Spa services are good and the personnel is very nice and attentive. The restaurant services and the food are good.

Sick Vacatiom

There is no way this is a four star hotel. It was a two at best. The food was barely edible, the service was poor and the rooms were disgusting. My three year old and one year old both left with a rash from either the pool or the sheets or towels. I would never trust Orbits reviews ever again.

The good and the bad

3 of us, we spent a week in the resort, doing a bit of everything: sea and sun bath, safari and Saona island trips, pool, night live shows, shopping etc. In my opinion - the info about resort's activities is pretty poor... I mean - it is not provided that "easy american way" like you get a clear, good info about everything around. We only got a little picture-map describing all the places. That's all. So I suggest to take some time asking and writing down - what and when is opened. Because most places like buffets gets closed every few hours and some places - like pizza house - gets opened even after midnight. We ate once at 1 of 3 restaurants where you have to make a reservation on the same day, but before 8:00 AM. Believe me: I am not picky on food. But that was a total disaster! I can understand than a lamb's leg has 30% of pure fat, but the butter served with rolls was just horribly old, had almost orange color and did smell like a fish! Also a dessert was a joke! For example 2 ladies at other table ordered lobsters and they were looking happy, so maybe we were just unlucky ones. But anyways - what happened to us was below any standards I've ever seen. After that - we decided to stay at buffet, where you just go and pick everything you want to eat. And it's fresh! We really enjoyed every night shows. The pool was great. Beach very nice. Close to the beach - Snack bar good for drinks and not bad for food too.

Vacay with family

Our family and I enjoyed our stay at IFA for seven days with a few minor drawbacks. The security staff were unfriendly and rude at times.Showers there were always luke warm. The food and wait staff were good at times but there were many restaurants to choose from. Those minor inconveniences did not stop us from enjoying our trip.
