Amazing hotel, not amazing food

First time to the Dominican Republic, Hard Rock was a lot of fun. Rooms were beautiful and clean. The staff was extremely helpful. Pools were plentiful, beaches were gorgerous. Be ready to walk, a lot... The resort is enormous. No matter where your room was you walked. Casino was large enough and clean. Spa was amazing. The food was sub-par. (Take into consideration I never went to a all-inclusive and can't compare it to another). Some restaurants were good others not so much, yet I never left one place saying that was amazing. Drinks are easy to come by, but be specific when ordering drinks, ie. what type of vodka, rum etc. to use. Place was still a lot of fun.

CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN!!!

5 days/4 nights not nearly long enough! Everything was excellent. The grounds are very large which was a concern of ours. However, the staff will take you where you want to go if you're not into a lot of walking. The carts run 24 hrs a day. Food was very good-awesome selection=buffets, cafes & restaurants. You do not need to make a reservation for dinner. The longest we waited was 20 minutes for a table-but worth the wait. Also we ordered room service twice (available 24 hrs.) Only took 20 mins.

Needs big improvement with staff communications

This did not behave like a 5 star resort, the staff was ill equipped on communication skills. The excursions were not what was advertised and would change at the drop of a hat. We had a total blackout in the evening hours with not so much as a exit light to guide us and was told welcome to the Dominican Rep. This was not a good experience most of the stay. My son had his wedding on the beach and that was the only good experience that we had there. I wish that we had stayed at the Paradisses instead! Almost forgot do not go on the VIP ground transport if you have any kind of spine problems you will never be the same!

Fantastic getaway but we did not eat much!

Great hotel. Check in and out was very quick. The hotel and the room were very clean and the staff was very nice. The pools were clean and there were always plenty of towels. We went on the Bavaro Runners Safari which was great fun. The only real complaint we had was the food was not good nor was it hot. We expected more authentic tasting food but instead food was bland and tasted generic. For such a beautiful resort we expected much better food.

Family Vacation and Wedding

Everyone we met from the moment we stepped out of our cab was wonderful - so helpful. Language was a bit of a barrier in that sometimes it was hard to communicate but everyone went out of their way to assist us. Pools and lunches available were fun and enjoyable. Night life was a bit lacking, not muct to do other than the casino in the evenings. Looking forward to a return trip.

Very Big Hotel

We tried this hotel because we had previously stayed at Moon Palace in Cancun. Overall it was a good time. The resort credits at this hotel are a joke compared to Moon Palace. We used 820 credits on a photo session and got to pick 10 printed photos upon which time we were told we had to pay 131.00 us dollars in taxes. So basically it was $1000.00 for 10 pictures. At Moon Palace we used 500 credits paid no tax and they gave us 50 photos on a cd. The resort credit store was also a rip off. We bought a ceramic frame with a plastic window instead of glass for 50 credits which of course with 16% tax is $8.00. The frame was at best worth $3.00. The food was mediocre except for Toro and Zen. However any food you get with chicken has grizzle and bones this happened at Zen. When we checked in we were told where our room was in this gigantic hotel no one took us there, they just said go catch the train. The pool waitresses were very friendly and the Vibe team was wonderful. The only good thing we spent our credits on was the horseback riding on the beach no tax and no strings. It cost us 300 credits for 4 people. The ranch staff is very friendly and deserved the big tip we gave them. I will not be returning to Punta Cana especially because of the chaos in their airport. 2 hours to get through customs and immigration. What a shame.
