Nice but the food needs work
The location was beautiful but the food left something to be desired and my first day I experienced unfriendly staff at check-in. The person who checked me in was brisk and unfriendly and basically shoved a key at me without so much as a welcome and brief overview. I was so upset with the service my first day I tried change plans to leave early. Things did improve. Be aware there is a $10 entry tax at the airport.

Trip to Punta Cana
Lots of kids so it gets loud sometimes. Some of the staff were not very friendly. The rooms and hotel were all clean. Buffet food is not that great - restaurants are better but you can only go there 2 nights - the rest of the time you have to go to the buffet.

Short drive from hotel
Canopy Tours - its a ziplining adventure that was very fun! It's about an 45 minute drive to the rainforest on a very bumpy road but other than that it was a wonderful experience and worth the $89.

Great trip
The hotel was very nice overall. The only small regret was the nightlife got kinda boring after the shows. I'm 24 so I like to party at night. This was due though to the disco being under renovation. They did have alternatives though and the staff was very fun and active. My wife and I had a great time. The Asian and Italian restaraunt were amazing. The beach and pools were very nice. The hotel was worth the price.

The hotel was nice no complants AAA
This hotel was big and very nicely located. Great beach and the staff were very willing to accommodate us with everything that we asked for. We had a great hotel room very close to everything that was going on and only about 300 feet to the beach and less than 50 ft to the pool and the bar!! We really liked the location. The only thing is that neither my friend or I spoke Spanish and that made it very difficult to communicate to the staff because most of them only new Spanish. Other than that everyone was very friendly and the room was cleaned when we expected it to be cleaned. All inclusive is the way to go! We were able to eat anything anytime of the day that we wanted. Also having as much as you want to drink is great. (Just be careful of the rum is is very strong)!!! Also if you are planning on bringing back any of there native drink mamajana make sure that it has the liquid ingredients in it or else customs will make you throw it out...

Make sure that you go threw a travel agent with the all inculsive because if you don't it will cost you $40. from and to the airport. If you go threw an agent then it will be included in the price of you package. It is a 30min ride from the airport and the taxi drivers will probably scare you with there driving. There are really no driving rules there other than the bigger car has the right of way!

Good Times
There were very few Americans at the hotel, as best we could tell. Not that this is a bad thing, but we were greatly outnumbered. Many more Europeans and South Americans, which gave the hotel and beach a different vibe. A decent amount of topless sunbathing, so if you have kids, be careful. The waitstaff was generally okay, but were somewhat slow and inattentive. A dollar bill here and there helps with the service. The issue we had with the hotel's location is that it is one of the last hotels on the strip, so side trips and the ride from the airport will take you longer. Otherwise, it was a nice spot on the beach. You should also know that when you get off the plane in the Dominican, you are charged a $10 entry fee per person. Very strange, but unavoidable. Have cash ready to go.

For the most part, very good!
The grounds and pools were great including the beach. The food and drinks were delicious. The service was good and there was a lot to do. The room was below average although we didn't complain until checking out. We also had to ask for fresh towels every day. For the most part it was very good.

Make your dining reservations soon after you arrive in order to get your preferences of dates and locations. At check-in, they say they only give 2 dining out certificates per week instead of 3, but that we complained about and we received a 3rd.

It's all about the beach!
I took this trip by myself strictly for the rest and relaxation. The beach was amazing here, like something you would see in a magazine. I walked up and down the beach a ways, and I can say that this was the best beach plot that I saw. There was plenty of sun, but also plenty of shade. They have cabanas, but you have to get out really early to get them. I was never that early, but there are plenty of palm trees for shade. The resort itself is also very beautiful and well maintained. The resort is huge and has two sides. I stayed on the beach side and never felt a need to wander over and see how the other half lived. My room was located in a building within great proximity to the beach and food. My room was okay. As a lone female traveler, I was not happy that there were no locks on the inside of the door. I used a chair at night, and that made me feel better. I didn't have a problem, but for peace of mind, it is only $20 a week to use the safe in the room. Ask about it when you check in. The beds in particular were not great, but the pillows were heaven, so that worked itself out. But the cleaning staff is excellent! I tipped $3 a day, and I always had fresh towels and a pristinely clean room. The way the resort is layed out, there are not really any "ocean view" rooms. However, if I leaned over the balcony, I did have a view of the ocean, and I could certainly hear the waves. The food was pretty good for an all inclusive. It was mostly buffet style, so it was as good as a buffet could be, and you also got two vouchers to eat at the sit down restaurants which were decent. There is a great buffet by the beach for lunch. And at all the restaurants, they make this amazing fruit cocktail, so I highly recommend trying it! The service was okay. Some of the bartenders were excellent, and some not so much, but as long as you go with the flow, it's all good. The men here are really aggressive, so be prepared to be harassed a little if you are alone and a woman. They don't really mean any harm, it's just the way it is there. There is a lot to do at the resort as far as motorized and non-motorized sports. And they will come to you, so you don't even have to get up from your lounge chair to set it up. There is also plenty of dancing and fun to be had at night. The hotel is noisy every night until about 11, so ask for a room that is not overlooking the pool area if this is going to be a problem. Overall, the hotel is just noisy because of the way things echo, inside and out. But I liked this hotel. I would stay here again. It is all about the beach, and if that is what you are going for, you will not be disappointed!

Good, but not the Best
Check-in was disaster, problem with the reservation so we were put in room that had MOLD. They moved us right away, but it started things off rather leary. The pools and the beach were wonderful. The staff at the restaurants were friendly. The hotel desk staff were unfriendly and not informative at all. Sometimes bar staff at pool worked at a snails pace, so much so, a couple of times we gave on getting our drinks. The light snacks are decieving -- only one provided was nachos and chips. The gift shops were limited in what they offered and EXTREMELY overpriced with unfriendly staff too -- total bad experience with shops.
