NOT RECOMMENDED

Everything was a mess, First the didn't find our reservation, Second they gave us a dirty room with two beds, when we select a King size bed because we are a couple and we were in our anniversary, Third the personnel was not friendly and they were acting like your are not the client and that you didn't pay your money for your vacation, also they never had space for reservation at the restaurants a la cart, always the restaurant was full and when you go by the restaurant the place was empty, honestly i don't want to keep talking about it, me and my wife regret the day that we choose that hotel for our anniversary.

great deal for short vacation

The beach in front of Gran Bahia has a water sport center, which is great. The food quality and amenity in bathroom can be improved

Spring Break

It would have been a lot more relaxing to know that there was a shuttle to take us to and from our resort. It was confusing and stressful to organize the cab over. Otherwise it was a great place to stay. I love how friendly everyone was and how diverse all the guests were.

Bahia Principe

Everything about the hotel was very nice. Everywhere was clean and tidy, and you could see that the highest standard of cleanliness was maintained. Staff were freindly, courteous and helpful.Gardens etc excellent, as was shuttle transportation from the pools. The Diamond reception person was OK but appeared a little indifferent. Not wanting to appear too critical but after a long day's travel, would have apprecited a more friendly reception. Possibly an off day. Also, better information regarding check in location should be provided, to ensure people being directed to the correct location. We were originally sent to the normal check in desk and then transferred to the "Diamond" check in. A little bit annoying.

Bahia Principe Punta Cana 2/20/10

Hotel/resort was nice and clean. Resort was huge. Food better than average for all-inclusive. Plenty of pools. Beautiful beach but very crowded at resort. Very few peddlers on beach and resort did a good job giving them a designated space to sell their goods on resort property (I think they were restricted to this area only, didn't see them anywhere else on resort). We had 3 a-la-carte dinners to choose from. Of course all the good ones were booked, even though they were all half empty in reality. We decided to skip one restauraunt and showed up at a better one and we ended up getting seated without a problem (left a good tip to wait staff and host). Got sick of the beer "Bavaro". Transfer to and from airport by Cocotours not well organized. Waited probably 45 minutes at arport before we were on our way to resort. They were also late picking us up at resort for our return flight and nearly missed our plane. VERY IMPORTANT----if your return flight is on a Saturday, make sure you get to the airport no less than 3 hours before you're to board the plane (seems like everyone arrives and leaves on Saturday and the airport is a complete cluster...). DO NOT allow your transfer to only pick you up 3 hours before your flight. We would have missed our flight if it wasn't late getting to the airport. Could have probably gotten a cab for the same $ we paid Cocotours. Cabs looked safe. Verizon wireless worked perfectly for $1.99/min voice, $0.50 to send a text, $0.05 to recieve a text. Call Verizon before you leave to have international roaming activated on your phone (no charge). Also, at airport, they charge you $10/traveler for a Visa to enter the country. Pay close attention to this process...pretty hilarious.

Dining facilities were great. Book your ala carte restaurants as soon as you get there. We were offered late hour and had to push to get the 7:00. Even though they were booked at the early hour, there were many tables available.

Definitely worth the money!!!

Hotel grounds were kept impeccable. Staff is visibly busy with upkeep. Hacienda rooms are beautiful and definitely worth the upgrade. Staff is friendly, accomodating and available. The food was great for an all inclusive--there was something for everyone. Mixed seafood lunch at Il Capriccio (the diamond club upgrade place for breakfast and lunch)was yummy.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Upgrade to diamond club for a couple of dollars more and all your dinner reservations are made for you before you arrive. Plus, you get a private pool area and adjacent restaurant for breakfast and lunch, so you don't have to travel back and forth. If you don't upgrade the pools available and eating options are still above average for an all inclusive.
