Excellence Punta Cana Luxury Adults Only - All Inclusive

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. Obviously, we loved it because we convinced our family to go back when my sister-in-law graduated. It was a great trip again, but I'm only giving 4 stars because of an incident we had there. My sister and her husband had a laptop and camera stolen from their room. The hotel did an "investigation" but said that they couldn't compensate them because that would be admitting guilt. They did give them a "gift" of 2 massages. Overall, though, this is a great resort. Lock your stuff up, and I promise you'll have a great time. I would still go back. So much to do there, you'll need at least 7 nights. The drinks are good, the water is safe, and the "adults-only" rule makes all the difference in the world!

Had a wonderful time. Celebrating our 20th anniversary and was looking for a quiet, relaxing place with great service. The Excellence Punta Cana was a perfect choice. Beautiful beach and one of the largest pool areas I've ever seen. Never had an issue finding the "perfect" spot. It was the perfect destination for our vacation.

I think that for the price we paid for this vacation we definitely got our monies worth. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, the pool and beach were great. Not a lot of inclusive amenities but we weren't looking to do too much. Just relaxed, ate and drank.

The hotel was very luxurious and very beautiful. Most of the resort (except for the rooms and a few of the restaurants) are open air. The main pool was HUGE and amazing. It has a swim up bar, and is just the right depth to stand in. It also has shallow sections you can lay in too. The staff was so helpful and was always ready to bring you whatever food or drinks you wanted. There are lots of shady cabanas all around the pool so that you can relax in the shade too. The beach was very clean and beautiful and the sand was pristine. The food selection was very good, and the quality of the food was okay. We got sick (not sure if it was the food or swallowed ocean water) and the medic was able to take care of us, and the concierge checked up on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The main drawback was being an hour from the airport. If you take a taxi like we did it is $70 USD one way. Overall I recommend this resort, especially if you like not having crying whiny children around =)

First ever all inclusive experience and we enjoyed it. The choice of entertainment as well as dining experiences was unending. Friendly staff gave us a unique personal experience from the moment we left our room until we closed the club late every morning. We also meet some very nice couples and enjoyed the evening shows.

Everything about the Excellence is excellente, except for the food. However, as long as you know this going in and don't expect to much from it, the resort is well worth the money.

Great location with beautiful beach, pools, & grounds. Excellent, friendly staff. Food and drinks were great. Room was moldy and musty smelling. Also, dress code for dinner was a little much for the hot weather.

This was a nice resort - not the best, but nice. We paid extra for the ride to and from the airport, but had to meet with the Orbitz rep, who was never where he said he'd be, to arrange the ride back. This of course comes with a hard-sell about buying the extras. The second you step off the resort property, you are accosted by locals trying to sell you stuff, and one night they actually let these sales people into the hotel - they actually physically grab you to try to sell you their goods. Breakfast buffet was great, the activities were mostly fun, and the room was lovely. Towel and mini-bar service was sporadic. We had a hot tub in the room, but the water was murky and greasy looking. Nice shops, but some of the food was terrible - DON'T order the hamburger. I don't know what it was. Staff was great, except one guy who hung around the sports bar and tried to sell tennis lessons. He wouldn't let up and kept changing the TV channel to a soap opera when several people were there to watch the NBA playoffs. We avoided that bar after that, which was a shame.

Great secluded area for couples to relax and getaway from the every day things.

Beautiful hotel; staff very friendly and helpful; extra activities available or do nothing but take in the sun, no pressure.. Some caveats: Room A.C. underpowered (can get pretty warm in rooms at times) Food at some restaurants not great (Stick to grill, pan-asian and mediterranean) Again, the service provided by the staff was outstanding (enough for us that we plan on returning)
