Excellence Punta Cana Luxury Adults Only - All Inclusive

The beach, pools, bars, gym, and other facilities were very good. Unfortunately the room and dining left a bit to be desired. The room was decent, but the bed was very uncomfortable. The food quality was okay at best. Most of the food, even at the sit-down restaurants, was pre-made (as opposed to cooked to order) and did not use fresh ingredients (e.g., canned mushrooms were used as a side at the steak restaurant). However, dining highlights were the freshly grilled items and brick-oven pizzas made on the beach and the Dominican-inspired food (i.e., the special Dominican dinner buffet and Dominican breakfast). The beach and staff (especially the entertainment folks) were top-notch. In summary, a good place to sit on the beach and drink from a coconut, as long as you don't have high expectations for the food/dining experience.

This hotel was the worst hotel Ive ever been too!!!! I recommend no one to ever go to the Excellence hotel!!

After doing a lot of research online and going back and forth between renting an apartment in Europe to a trip to Bali, we decided that we should do an all-inclusive for our honeymoon so we can worry about NOTHING. It's unlike our usual travel habits, but we figured we'd give it a shot. We came the whole way from Los Angeles (the furthest west couple we met at the resort was from Texas) but couldn't have been happier. Upon arrival we were greeted w/ champagne and the staff person said 'Your wish is my command'! Wow. We were whisked away to our room (we upgraded to a junior pool side suite) and had a little hammock and swim up bar right in front of us. After grabbing a Presidente from our mini-bar we explored the property. We had plans to leave and travel around Punta Cana but there is no need -- the hotel is so big we didn't even get to try every restaurant or use half of the amenities. My husband worked out at the gorgeous gym, I took a yoga class, we did horseback riding on the beach (included as well)! We also got the spa package of a massage on the beach followed by a candlelight dinner which I highly recommend. If you cannot find romance at Excellence you shouldn't be together!! It's gorgeous, the staff is extremely friendly and the food was excellent & drinks flowing! I would (and have) recommend Excellence to anyone and we're already planning our next trip to Excellence Cancun!

This resort really does it right. The food and activities were first rate and the vast selection of both were impressive. If you are health aware, you will be pleased with the fitness center and the healthy food options. My wife and I both loved it and we will surely be back. The orbitz rep on the property was very helpful as well.

The resort was beautiful, the landscaping was amazing. All of the staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful. Free mini-bar in the room, Free room service. Good choice of restaraunts to choose from.

This is my second trip to Excellence Punta Cana. Both times I had a awesome experiences. There were tons of things to do on site as well as excursions outside of the resort. We were down there when hurricane Irene hit and although 4 out of the 7 days were rain we still managed to have a awesome time!

My husband are about as unpretentious as travelers come, so we took low reviews about this place with a grain of salt. This place is BEAUTIFUL if you get good weather. Let me just highlight some negative things we didn't think about but turned out to be bigger deals for us personally, as well as some tips: -The AC in the rooms and throughout the resort leaves something to be desired. I am especially hot natured, and my hubby is definitely not cold natured. Our room probably never got lower than 77-78 degrees, and that was at full blast. If you are hot natured at all, be prepared for this. I spent a lot of time fanning myself with the cool shot on my blow dryer. -The language barrier is fairly large. Beyond the basic greetings, try to pick up some words that might be important to you, such as "not too sweet" when the bartenders are mixing you a cocktail. They tended to make everything sicky sweet and it was hard to describe what we meant when asking them not to. -The beds are not soft, but they are king size and beautiful. -Take some Immodium and/or Pepto Bismol. On our 5th day I got mad sick, but thanks to a friend, these medications helped a ton. I never did find out what I got sick from. -If it rains, there is still plenty to do. Check out the pool tables and basketball court near the entrance to the resort. -The entertainment is a bit unorganized and I would give the one show we got to see a C+. -The ocean on sunny days is STUNNING! While we were here, we experienced Hurricane Irene (just never-ending rain) and only had 2 of 8 days that were sunny. But that doesn't mean we didn't have a great time! The lobster at The Lobster House was delish, the duck at Chez Isabelle was amazing, and the tempura ice cream at Spice was super fun and tasty. If they fixed the AC issue, I would definitely come back here in the future, but next time, I think we'll check out the Mexican Excellence resort.

WRITING IN CAPS BECAUSE THIS WAS THE BEST ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!! FROM OUR ARRIVAL IN THE LOBBY TO THE FIRST SIGHT OF OUR ROOM WITH A HAMMOCK TO OUR FIRST MEAL, THE BEST DRINKS EVER, THE PERFECT ROOMY POOL WITH AWESOME POOL SIDE BEDS TO A BEAUTIFUL SOFT BEACH, THEN TO A ROMANTIC AND DELICIOUS MEAL AT THE LOBSTER HOUSE, THIS PLACE IS SUPER ROMANTIC EVERYWHERE YOU WALK! IT WAS VERY REFRESHING AS THE PEOPLE AND STAFF WERE SO PLEASANT! EVERY ONE HAD A FRIENDLY SMILE! THE DRINKS WERE DEFINITELY PREMIUM AND NOT WATERED DOWN AND THEY WERE SERVED IN TALLL GLASSES NOT LITTLE PLASTIC CUPS! TOTALLY A LUXURIOUS 5 STAR EXPERIENCE WHICH EVERY ONE SHOULD EXPERIENCE ONCE IN THIS BEAUTIFUL LIFE! MY BOYFRIEND AND I WERE ON OUR 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND WE HAVE DECLARED THAT THIS WILL BE THE PLACE WE HAVE TO GO TO ONCE A YEAR. DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY AND THE EXCURSIONS WERE QUITE THE EXPERIENCE. WE DID THE DUNE BUGGY WHICH WAS FANTASTIC. YOU REALLY SAW THE COUNTRY SIDE AND ITS BEAUTIFUL RIVERS, MOUNTAINS AND BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES. THE SPEED BOAT/SNORKELING EXCURSION WAS MY FAVORITE AS WE HAVE NEVER DRIVEN A BOAT AND GOT TO TRY IT FOR THE FIRST TIME. WE ARE NOW HOOKED ON TRYING NEW ADVENTURES ESPECIALLY WATER ACTIVITIES. THE BEST TRIP EVER. NO COMPLAINTS! WE ARE TRYING TO BOOK OUR NEXT TRIP FOR MARCH 2012. MARCH CANNOT COME ANY SOONER. THE SHOWS WERE GREAT! AND I CANNOT STOP THINKING ABOUT ALL THE GREAT FRIENDS WE MADE WHO WE KEEP IN TOUCH WITH. AWESOME MEMORIES! PLEASE DO YOURSELF THE FAVOR OF EXPERIENCING THIS LUXURIOUS RESORT, YOU SHALL DECLARE IT THE BEST VACATION AS WE DID. ENJOY

This hotel is older but it makes up for age in the staff/amenities. Everyone is willing to do whatever is needed to assure your stay is the best. Activities go on all day everyday from morning through night. Nightly shows are worth seeing. Food is plentiful for all appetites. Buggy riding was money well spent. The hotel is a good ride from the airport but you get to see the sights if traveling during daylight hours.

Excellence Punta Cana lives up to its name - "Excellence". From the time we exited the van the staff was unbelievable. This was the most relaxing vacation. We were waited on hand and foot, the foods were great and the resort was quiet...No Kids... The funniest thing we saw was the Wal Mart, Kohls, Target, Kmart, Macys and Sears Oultet on the beach. Gentlemen - Be sure to pack long pants for dinner - you will not be allowed in certain restaurants with shorts on and bring your sunscreen...the prices are outrageous on the resort. Wish I had more time...I would still be at the Excellence!!!
