THE GOOD BAD UGLY
I WAS NOT HAPPY THAT WE NEEDED TO GET A CAB UP AND BACK FROM OUT HOTEL THAT COSTED US 65$, I THOUGHT THAT WOULDVE BEEN INCLUDED. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE FOOD AT THE HOTEL, NOR WAS I HAPPY WITH THE GIRL THAT I PAID 70$ TO DO MY HAIR FOR THE WEDDING. MY BRIDE ALSO TOOK HER HAIR OUT FOR HER OWN WEDDING. I WAS EXTREMELY UPSET.

Would be good for a 3-5 day stay
Went on a honeymoon for 11 days. The best part of the trip was the beach, powdery white sand, clear water, slight tropical breeze. The hotel itself was fairly clean and comfortable, request a room on the third floor. The dining options are decent for about 5 nights, the Italian and French were the best. Would not recommend eating the seafood as we got sick for a day and a half in the middle of the trip. Staff overall is helpful, Alex at the Entertainment Center is the best employee, fantastic job. DO NOT work with CoCo Tours, especially Fernando! The transportation to/from the airport [...] is Coco Tours, they are unreliable and lied multiple times almost causing us to miss our return flight!

Review on Dreams Palm Beach resort
The restaurants and variety of food, especially in the buffet, were great, as well as the 24 hour room service included in the all inclusive. The resort was beautiful, and I didn't see a single bug, bird, or creature of any sort, so they do a great job keeping all of those away. The beach was absolutely beautiful, and they work hard to keep the seaweed clear. The staff is extremely friendly and fun, and had many fun activities planned for each day. However, I was disappointed by the size of the room, and the shower had only half a door so the floor got soaked everytime you shower, and they were very slow checking us in and made a big mistake of giving us keys to a room that was already occupied so it made me nervous that just anyone could get a key to our room with our personal belongings sitting in there. They did not do anything to make up for this. Overall it was a great experience, but I will probably try a different resort next time.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
The Dolphin Explorer excursion was great, worth the money, since you get to swim with sharks/stingrays, and a sea lion, and then snorkel and go to a natural pool, and fun crew and dancing on the boat.

Work for the money or the customers???
This hotel was beautiful, but the men work harder and are more friendly than the women. The woman only work because they have too. Not first class cleaning in rooms, only the obvious is done... Staff are over worked, so don't expect special attention for what you are paying... Spa not over the top, refund please.....

Could be better
Great location, clean beach even after huricane Irene passed. Good quality food but schedules were not flexible enough. Staff is the main problem, they need to be quicker and kind, it takes almost an hour for them to bring you the next drink (even if you tip them). Plus managers need to follow up with complians better, they don't take action. We recommend Punta Cana, but probably try other resort options.

Great Value
If you're looking for the white sand, crystal clear water, look at resorts in Romana/Bayahibe - tons of seaweed and water is brown here, but otherwise a great value for what you get. Food and booze were great. Most staff was very attentive, but we were a group of ten and the restaurants were adamant that they would not put tables together for us because 'then they would have to do that for every group of ten' (very frustrating conversation with Lenardo? at Italian restaurant). Also, having to wear long pants at night in hot weather after sunburning all day was frustrating - restaurants should really just require collared shirts. If you're looking for an inexpensive vacation and plan on sitting at the pool bar anyways, this is your place!

Not for young couples/romantic vacas
overall would be a good experience for FAMILIES with little kids or big groups. there are a number of activities always running and entertainment staff is good about making sure kids are having fun (and adults too). overall though not as much mingling between guests if that is something you look for on one of these types of vacas. Pluses: beach, exterior of resort (nice to walk around), location (beautiful beach), entertainment staff Neutral: food (not amazing but definitely decent as far as all inclusives go except room service which is awful), there are a gym and tennis courts available but the quality are a bit poor Minuses: drinks (they give you really bottom of the barrel liquor; you can get decent liquor if you specifically ask for it and only at the main bar); rooms are OK (definitely have seen nicer at beach resorts, not 4* quality rooms); staff asks visitors to write reviews during trip; front desk staff unhelpful

Family Getaway
The trip was very nice, but the food options became a little slim at lunch. The buffet had lots of options but not very well seasoned, either no salt or too salty. Hotel was very clean and all the staff very nice. There were too many people that kept wanting to stop you to get you to go to the "vip" lunch to check out the other hotels they are building, that was a little annoying.

Ordinary room but wonderful staff
The rooms are average for a 4 star resort. The bathroom was small and the shower area had partial glass door and it constantly leaked each time you had a shower. The housekeeping were wonderful to continually mope the wet bathroom floor. On the first day our sink had a leak and flooded the room. They fixed it the next day and sent us a bottle of champagne and fruit basket for the inconvenience. The Dining was very good, pool and beach area were wonderful. The spa is overpriced just like the gift stops

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
take a short walk to shopping area close to the hotel where it is lot cheaper than the resort prices. Prepare to bargain, generally 1/3 rd the price

Cruise Ship on Land
Went for a week in April with my husband and 6 year old daughter. We booked this place due to it being a 4 star resort and the great deal we got here. Details of the hotel below: Front desk: At check in we were treated rudely by the female front desk clerk. She would not answer our questions and when we asked for a room with 2 beds she told us the hotel was sold out (which it was not as we found out later). Speaking with other guests they all had simlar stories of the front desk and found them to be no help at all. Hotel Rooms: everything in the room is old and breaking apart. The matresses were sunken, the dresser drawers were broken, chair fabric was torn up and the bathroom had mismatched tiles and stained grout, stained toilet (it grossed me out) The shower would not drain and they had to repair it 2 times (by squirting something down the drain). It kept draining very slow but we just dealt with it. Chairs on the patio were all torn up also and could not even be sat in. Also had a few roaches in our room. The pool area was very nice and great options with the 3 pools, however everyone puts their things on the chairs before 8am and even though management states they will take unattended items off the chairs - they never did this, so my family never got to eat bfast together as we needed to get chairs under umbrellas early. Waitress service was horrible at the pool as there seemed to be on 3 working for all the people at the pool. We had to get up and get our own drinks. Beach: crazy soft sand! Plenty of chairs on the beach - never a problem. We only were able to swim one day out of seven as there were some storms off shore which made the ocean very wavy. However the day we did swim the water was crystal clear and so warm. There are some vendors walking the beach but they dont come into the chair area so it was nice not to get accosted. Activities: so much going on during the day. Games, work outs, scuba diving lessons...it goes on and on. We did not participate and did not get pressured by the entertainment staff to join. The entertainment team however are all fantastic and you can tell they actually like their jobs! Kids Club: My daughter had mixed reviews on the Club. Not for a lack of things to do or the wonderful Awilda who works there - but just that all the other kids that were there that week were from South America and all spoke Spanish so she felt pretty left out. Food: The best restaurant is the Seaside Grill. We all enjoyed our meal there and the great wait staff. The buffet got old after a few days and the French restaurant was just awful! Burgers on the beach was great during the afternoon and there was a big Carribean night on the beach which was yummy as well. Net net: if you are looking for a place to go and dont really care about your food or the room but want a place where you can play all day at various activities then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation where you feel catered to and tucked in - then look elsewhere.
