Very fun and unforgettable

I had a great time with my mom. We were Asian, and staff were very nice. Food were good, room was clean. Very Beautiful. I paid 550 per persom for three nights because I booked 2 month earlier. I was able to get a gree shuttle to the resort. I would like to visit again.

great location

I had a great week there. It`s also a good option for kids. Good restaurants and nice beach. Definatly it's a good value.

You will not be disappointed

I travelled with my mother and sister to celebrate baby sis 50th birthday. We arrived at 10:30 at night,immediately were greeted with smiles and very helpful staff, which never waivered throughout our stay. The entire property and beach is well maintained. It was a great, very relaxing vacation. Our next trip was suppose to be a cruise, but after this experience, we are going back to the Grand!

Not that Grand

The service was average. Unless you are a traveller through their vacation club you are not treated well at all. Check-in took forever and I booked the better of the two hotels. Rooms where nice, but bed & linens are old. I had to beg for face towels every day. The all-inclusive food was plentiful, but just average in taste & quality. There are not many beverage options for the non-drinker/diabetic. Pools where clean but chairs need to be updated or repaired - most were broken. Melia Sol hotels are much better in service and amenities.

OK Resort - VERY POOR Management

Hurricane Tomas was passing between Haiti and Cuba while we were here. The upgrade to Bavaro versus Grand Oasis Punta Cana was worth it. The Punta Cana rooms were disgusting. Food was adequate and service wonderful. Bars were okay - no fresh fruit in drinks. Lots of little pools were nice and you could enjoy quietness at the pools. Beach was beautiful, but no water activities for free. We went parasailing, but had to go to another resort to do so. The lobby staff was useless. We tried to get a replacement light bulb and it was delivered after 9:30 pm. The best times we had did not involve anyone from resort. Resort is set up as a timeshare selling plant. Salespeople bug you everyday. Not a recommended place!

Don't fall for the hype. Far from 5 star

Ok the resort is beautiful, that's undeniable. However this hotel is severely lacking in the entertainment department. Far from exciting, no lively activities. If your idea of vacation is just sitting on the beach drinking, this place is perfect for you. The pools were kept very clean and many for you to chose from. Another tip is, this is two hotels in one. Save yourself money and book with punta cuna part and not the Grand Bavaro. There is no difference. You get the same amenities with the exception of eating at aqua restaurant in the morning, which I could have lived without. Also they will try to sell you their club membership which prices start at 8k BEWARE. Look it up. It's not for everyone. This resort is not for people that like to venture out, there is nothing to see. The beach was not that clean, although they did try to, but we went to the Dreams resort and their beach was keep so much cleaner. The food... UGH. I don't know why I believed some of the reviews. I'm from NY and my idea of breakfast does not consist of boiled potatoes, hot dog meat, boiled tomato and fried cheese??? can you say EWW. Ok now dinner UGH avoid Windows as much as possible. The specialty restaurants are pretty decent, however I had food poisoning from the Japanese restaurant, nevertheless it was still good food. And at Riggolo they had Dominican food one night and the group we were with all had a "bad night". By far what I liked the most was the Mexican surprisingly, great food, you must have. When they have Brazilian at aqua that is great as well, but they have slow service. The service in the rooms... If you tip they are ok. One day we forgot to tip, so in turn they forgot to give us soap, shampoo, trash can, forgot to wipe surfaces.. basically not doing their job. Not doing the services you have paid for. A tip shouldn't have entitled me to that. Especially considering Europeans don't tip and I did. So i stopped and reported this. The next day I got extra stuff. The shampoo they gave you doesn't lather and they only give lotion upon request. Also while we were there, they never changed our sheets. I've taken many vacations in the past, however this isn't the worse resort but it was how worse vacation by far. I prefer the liveliness of a cruise or I prefer destinations that have city attractions. I don't recommend this place, unless you are an older couple. Younger people will get bored really quick. The best about this resort was the pools and their Mexican restaurant.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Don't fall for the sales pitch for lifestyle holidays. If I knew that we were going to be sold anything timeshare stuff, I wouldn't have come. Also when it comes to excursion... NEGOTIATE. The hotel and online sites are too expensive, you can get excursions super cheap if you haggle. Another tip, don't buy anything on the resort, buy outside if you are on excursions.

very laxing..............

Well, the setting is very nice. the hotel is beautiful, customer service not good. food nothing to rave about. employees are very very nice. lots of swimming pools. lots of mama juana(locals drink)good.....

I WANT TO GO BACK!!!

I went with friends from college and I had an amazing time! The non-motorized sports were included in the all-inclusive package and we definitely took advantage of that. I enjoyed sitting beachside and pool side each day. The pools were not the cleanest, but we made the best of it. The food was good. The buffet at breakfast was the best. You MUST make reservations for the Japanese restaurant (Japonais). It was delish! I definitely would go back there in a heartbeat. LOVED it!

WONDERFUL PLACE, THE BEST VACATION!!!

On my arrival at the hotel, I was received with a huge smile from the reception staff, specially from [...], that made me feel welcomed.The bell boy scorted me to building 12, when I arrived to the room, I was pleasantly surprised, it was very spacious and clean, the view was great, very large bathroom with jacuzzi. The pool area of block 12 was very paceful and quiet, great for people who wants to relax.I had lunch at Windows buffet, there is a lot of variety and the food was very tasty, fast service and waiters very kind and helpful.In general, the resort is very charming, the gardens well kept and the areas very clean. The beach area is georgeous, the white sand and huge palms are just incredible!!!Regarding the entertainment staff, I had a great time participating in some of the activities, the aquagym was so much fun, [...] and [...] did a great job.My first night I had dinner at Aqua restaurant, let me tell you that I have been in a lot of resorts around the world, and the food in aqua was excellent! On my second night I had also tried the Italian restaurant, I loved the decoration, and the pasta was delicious.I highly recommend this resort, this was my first time in Punta Cana, and definitely I will come back!
