Located in the fishing village of Bayahibe, the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus All Inclusive is a short drive from the La Romana International Airport. Good value
Arrived on Friday afternoon, and was unable to get a dinner reservation for any of the 3 nights there. We were able to persuade the staff to seat us at 6:30 Friday for Hibachi (which was very good), but they were unable to accomodate us either Saturday or Sunday. Not quite sure how that happens, so the buffet it was for the remainder of the stay. Otherwise, the stay was great. Staff was fun and helpful.

Not Bad Overall
I am a return customer and this time again the stay was very enjoyable. The place is well taken care of, clean and beautiful. The main attraction is the calm beach great for snorkling and swimming unlike the wavy ones in other parts of the DR. Food offering shrunk over the years, but even though not fantastic anymore it is still good. Entertainment is OK to very good but gets a bit repetitive after a few days. Overall great value for the price.

Beach was good,but to get tree umbrella you have to be on the beach before 6 am.Going to buffet or restaurant do not forget that there are NO AIR CONDITIONERS,except colonial restaurant.Poor air conditioner in the room too.If you get room in the building #7 or #4,you ok,but if any other building,it it poor luck:room temperature very highwith sunrise or sunset.Expect average food,good fruits variety,poor drinks variation.Staff at average level:if you have any problems and try to get explanation they are trying to pretend that no english at all.In colonial restaurant waiter had poor attitude at all.To get something you have to ask him many times.For active people they have beach volley,soccer volley,pool volley,waterpolo,ping pong tables,even big chess on the ground,it is good.Becarefull with catamaran taking for an hour.If you can not dock it coming back,they try to charge you $49.That happened tome and my wife.It took me another two hours in the lobby to get rid of this charge.Expect good quality drinks only at the lobby bar,no drink service by the man on the beach at all.

Relaxing, easy and great value for the money
Our overall experience at Iberostar Hacienda was great and we were pleasantly surprised. The beach was beautiful & well-maintained, the restaurants in the resort was excellent (even the buffet), and the room was very clean. The staff at the reception were little disorganized and they neglected to tell us that dinner reservations at restaurants (there are four and one buffet) needed to be made by 2PM when we were checking in. Plus you are allowed to eat at these four restaurants only twice during your stay. It should have been clearly noted but it was not. Nonetheless the buffet was still good and there were endless selection of good food. There are refreshment stands to get food and drinks, and on Saturday they made fresh paellas with lots of seafood! What a treat! On our last day we could put our bags in the storage room after checking out, and hang out on the beach until the very end. There is a shower (needs to be better maintained though with fresh towels and soaps) so you can clean up before hopping on the car. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend to other travelers looking for a good value all-inclusive get-away.

If you can get a flight into LaRomana instead of Santo Domingo it will be a shorter drive. It took us almost 2 hours.
