Good resort

it's a good resort, all inclusive include food, non-motorized water sports, alcoholic beverages. People will try to sell you time share, just ignore if if you want to it. It's a little away from the capital (santo domingo), and they charge you 80$ per person for excursion to the city. Advice: arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel in advance, taxi can get expensive

Late honeymoon

The food at the buffet was okay. After a while you start to miss what good food taste like. Not that many Dominican options at the buffet. The staff was amazing. Everyone made sure you were comfortable and if not they tried to accommodate you. The beach wasn't that beautiful because a river sums on to it but the pool and bar at the pool made up for it. The bar tenders were very attentive and they said things like "Okay! Happy hour! 24/7" when they brought your drinks. Overall the trip was amazing due to the service. Customer service makes a big deal...

4 day getaway

The hotel was very good and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good too, better than any regular all inclusive hotel style. The only con was the beach but still made the work.

Great last minute trip- some kinks need to be ironed out

I just returned from a 4 day getaway . I've stayed at Gran Bahia in Jamaica and had a great experience. We were upgraded to the luxury Bouganville section. Food was great, room was very comfortable, amenities were very nice. Staff was pleasant but not always efficient. We asked for a hair dryer numerous times and finally got one three days later when Algeny at the front desk made a call for us. We lost power during the night a few times. Every time this happened the fans made a loud noise and the. TV turned on. We had to wake up very early the next day for an excursion so this wasn't ideal. Overall I would recommend this resort for a quick, affordable trip to DR. Some kinks need to be worked out.

Time-saving tip: In Hotel

Get pool towels early in the day before they run out. Make a la carte dinner reservations when you first check in to get the restaurants and times that you want.

Great Vacation

We were surprised when learned that new Luxury Bahia Principe was opened and we'll stay there. Personnel were very accommodating. Food in the Buffet was great - nicely presented and big variety. Plenty of shade on the beach, and very convenient layout of bars, restaurants and entertainment. We liked that after dinners before the Shows there were live music with dancing, and animation team was very active to cheer the guests

Cheap getaway

If you are looking for a cheap getaway this would be a good resort to choose. You get what you pay for though. We had no hot water and heard almost all other guests complaining of the same. The beach is nice and big, plenty of chairs and palapas, but the water is gross. The pool is nice though so we enjoyed that. The golden club gets you nothing that's worth the extra money. I would not go back again. This resort could be so much better if the effort was put into it by management.
