DREAMS LA ROMANA RESORT AND SPA REVIEW

I have been to this resort about 8 yrs ago when it was Casa del Mar. It has gotten bigger and maintained it's reputation. The entire place was spotless and very well kept. The staff were great and super friendly. I traveled with 3 teenage girls and they want to go back!!

Overall good experience/discriminatory

Overall it was a highly enjoyable experience, except for the remarkable discrimination toward myself and my family from some of the security personal in the pool area. [...]. I also received an unfriendly attitude, in the Customer Service desk from [...], who stayed on the phone with a personal call, ignoring me completely.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Some nights the Dinig options may be highly limited. The "Italian" restaurant offered a very limited menu, very far from a real italian restaurant. Overall, the buffet menu was great.

Nice, small resort. Poor Management.

Went to this hotel at the end of June. Beautiful weather, but very humid. Hotel is small, but service is top-notch. Unfortunately, not the same could be said for the food (no local DR cuisine, the Jungle was closed for the season), and I don't know if management knew how to adhere to delivering 100% customer service.

The night club on the premises was a lot of fun, and the neighboring casino is a great, safe place to hang out in the late hours.

Good Value for the Money

Location was good-close to La Romana airport. Very nice beach. Excellent choice of restaurants for dinner. Nightly entertainment was cute. Staff was friendly, although language could be a problem - English not well spoken. Great resort if you have kids. If you don't, you may find it too noisy with all the little ones. Finding shade on the beach could be a problem unless you got there early. They could use more palapas on the beach and around the pool for those of us who are not sun worshipers and burn easily! Beach service was excellent with respect to bringing drinks. Restaurant service was also excellent. Rooms were kept clean and maids did a wonderful job of replenishing in-room amenities (shampoo, body wash, etc.). Refrigerator was also stocked every day. All in all it was a very good value for the price we paid.

Not my dream vacation

Poor customer service at Dreams La Romana. Poor location and poor beach area. We were very disappointed in the resort. We even went to Dreams Punta Cana one day to compare and were not allowed to even visit their beach. They took us on a tour of the facilities and then walked us straight to the door after we had driven two hours to visit the hotel. There are too many other very nice vacation destinations to put up with the Dreams. They market La Romana resort as "luxury", but I would consider it "rustic" instead.

Gorgeous resort

The resort was fantastic! Grounds were spectacular!! Beautiful beach, 3 beautiful pools, great service from the waitstaff, especially our lovely beach cocktail waitress, [...], who couldn't have been more attentive or sweeter. Special thanks also to [...], all went above and beyond for us. Rooms were nice, kept nice and clean. The only complaint we had was our safe was not working and it took 3 days before it was finally addressed after reporting it every day. But, we did receive an upgrade to Preferred Club for our trouble.

D.R. Vacation

Our trip was good. We had a two hour car ride from Santo Doningo to our hotel in La Romana. The ride was fine, but I wasn't to thrilled about our cab company Coco Travel that we booked through [...].Also, it rained every day, two of the days we stayed in our hotel room all day and ordered room service for lunch. The hotel was nice though, I would recommend it. The staff was friendsly and the foood was good. The room was always clean.

The most perfect place and people

Every day would sit by the pool or in the pool for about eight hours a day,and sip on pinacoldas. the massage salon was the best massage i had in a long time. i also enjoyed the excursion on the yacht that goes across to another island to have lunch. i enjoyed doing water aerobics and volley ball. the club was allsume. most of of all, the staff was great, wonderful, just a very beautiful place to be with people that are very humble and with so much care about they're jobs and being so attentive. the best place.

This was our first time at an all inclusive resort and we had a wonderful time! The location was a little far from the airport, but the beach, pools and rooms were all beautiful and well-kept. Would definitely recommend upgrading to Preferred Club, as this part of the hotel was quieter and gave you access to a great private pool, Preferred club concierge, free internet and private bar. Food overall was better than I expected, even the buffet had great variety and tasty food. We did a private romantic dinner at the end of a pier and got to watch a beautiful sunset by ourselves while eating a four course meal! We spent most of our days lying on the Preferred club private beach, under individual shaded straw huts. Overall the service was excellent. Only drawback for us was we would have preferred a couples only resort, but there were fewer children on the Preferred club side, so it worked out fine.
