All inclusive means "bad food"

Resort was beautiful, location was beautiful, food was TERRIBLE, and the staff was alright. The rooms had paper thin walls and you could hear everything, I mean EVERYTHING. The beaches were gorgeous, hotel and rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable, but we just could not get over the food!!!! It was soooo bad, and it didn't even make me sick. I felt like the staff were NOT genuinely nice, they were just doing their jobs, sometimes even rude. The spa was lovely, definately a high point. There were a lot of activities to do, but when I'm on vacation I just want to relax.....

Paradise minus the food

It's beautiful, with lots to do and see. The food is very hit or miss, with my favorite restaurant being the Jungle. We were there for a wedding and overall had a great time, just wish they could put a little more effort into the food.

Eat before you come

The Good: -The resort is well manicured -The beach is very nice -The weather was good -It was inexpensive The Bad: -The rooms were not all that nice (I would compare them to an older Best Western) -The service was very average and hit or miss -Tipping was expected -Pools closed at 6pm; all bars closed at 2am The Ugly: -The food was the worst I've ever had; absolutely horrendous -They had one type of horrible beer -When you ordered a drink, you were lucky to get what you ordered. The glasses were often dirty. There was no such thing as premium liquors or import beers. Overall, the drinks were absolutly terrible. -The "minibar", if you want to call it that, consisted of the smallest fridge I've ever seen with 2 (TWO!) beers, a bottle of water, and a sprite. Ridiculous.

wonderful trip

This was a graduation gift for my son and his friend. They were both 18 and were excited to be adults on a vacation. They had a separate but adjoining room to us and it was perfect! The Preferred Club was well worth the money. The pool was wonderful not very crowded and right outside our room. The bar was right there and the guys took advantage of the room service often!! The resort is beautiful and the weather was fantastic. The resort was so clean and they worked on keeping the grounds beautiful everyday. We can't wait to go back!!!!!

A Travelers best trip

The people are beautiful, and the room service is part of the all-inclusive. The room was a sight to see and very clean with marble floors. The Ocean and the beach were a Romantic treat and fun. We also enjoyed the Pool very much, as well as the fitness center. This resort is the most beautiful we have ever visited. We also really loved the shows at the theatre, and we also had a lot of fun at the Club which also had multiple big screen hdtv's so we could also watch the Heat vs the Mavs. The gift shops were very reasonable which was a surprise. The next time we go we will take advantage of the Spa, and the many recreational activities. the only thing that can be improved upon is the food, I rate it a 7. The overall experience is a major 10. The people and the scenery knocks it out of the Park.

The food could be a little bit better, maybe a chef to oversee each meal. Also add more pasta dishes with more choice of sauces.

CASINO STAFF WAS HORRIBLE

In General the Hotel was nice and clean I guess because I booked a preferred room, however the Casino of the Hotel was terrible, the staff was unprofessional and did not know the game rules. The Manager of the Casino did not even Speak English which that was awful. In general the Hotel Staff was nice and very helpful only if you give them a tip. The Management was very professional and caring. Make sure if you book a room dont check in a room next to stairs as Mades make noise in the morning when they clean. The Food in all of the restaurants was not the greatest quality for a 5 star rated hotel. The only Place that you can eat nice and fresh was the World Cafe Buffey self service. The beach was Great, the drinks were non stop. The Entertainment Crew sucked, they really need to bust up the activities as all they do all day is play that Dance Kutura song and thats about it. The Three pools were excellent and clean. This place is good for weddings only as for fun is mostly families and couples. Not much to do for singles or group of single friends as mostly is couples in honeymoon or families with kids and or someone getting married.

Dreams La Romana Resort

The room was nice but they need to upgrade the bathroom. It was kinda old. The beach was awesome with silky sand and blue water. There was two nice size pools. Foods was awsome, especially steak. They served steak almost every restaurants during lunch and dinner. Buffet was the best "grilled ribeyes was awsome". Drink was okay not that good but acceptable. Overall, it was a nice trip and worth the price....

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

You should book the transportation from the airport to the hotel seperately. I got charged $99 per person both way [...] but if you book seperately with other private company it would be around $60 pp round trip...=).... save $40...
