Awful place!
We only stayed one night and could not have left sooner! This place is in the slums! It's gross......

Awful place!
We only stayed one night and could not have left sooner! This place is in the slums! It's gross... My boyfriend had a police pull a shot gun at him.... It was so scary! Stay far away!

Short drive taxi to sasua only cost 500 peso which is about 14 us dollers.

Ups and downs
Overall, for an inexpensive place in Cabarete, Dominican Republic, Kaoba was okay. Clean, but in the apartments where I was, a bit run down. I think the bungalows are in better shape. The location is very good, and the service was fine, given what the expectations were. Sometimes a bit noisy, due to a young and often inebriated crowd, but mostly pretty quiet and restful, though it is on the main road and car alarms and engine noises remain audible at the back of the complex.

"The good, the bad, and the really ugly"
Not so well. The first impression was nasty. The lady at the front desk was not polite. All the room furniture were so worn, and they try to charge extra money to use the air condition.

Good buy for the money
Kaoba is centrally located to most of the activity I was interested in so I was satisfied

Rundown
None of the staff spoke ANY English. There was no phone service in the rooms due to the phone cable being cut. The view of the "Lagoon" was of a fence,razor wire and a few palm trees. The pictures posted on the web site must be atleast 5 years old. The room had no clock, coffee pot, or microwave. The ceilling fan had one speed-slow. Internet service was slow. But atleast the beer was cold

just like it is
the Hotel Kaoba in Cabarete, was okay stay but could be better.well the first this did not like this trip it was further than i though and was not exciting as sasoua.

the town sasoua is about 20 mins away and more exciting, more clubs more food shops and bars.
