Four days in Copenhagen

Great location right near the boat doc and all the touristy things that you'd want to see. Tivoli is about a 20 minute walk, which is a pleasant walk through town. We requested and were given a new room because the smoke from the terrace was coming into our room. The hotel staff were very accommodating and even moved our luggage to the new room while we were out in the city. Nice, clean hotel that's close to sites, and a friendly and accommodating staff. I'd definitely stay again.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a supermarket just behind the hotel for lunch items, drinks and snacks. The park is only a few blocks away so you can eat there. The city is expensive so this saved us a lot of money.

AVOID

I called ahead to say I would be arriving late, which they assured me was not a problem. I arrived to find that they had given my room away and rebooked me into an inferior partner hotel without any reimbursement or explanation.

Copenhagen is expensive

Considering how expensive everything is in Copenhagen, the Phoenix Hotel was a very good value for the room. However, the breakfast was $30 per person. There are a number of steps getting into the hotel and although someone helped us with the luggage once we checked in, no one offered to help us when we first arrived. We had to carry our luggage up the steps ourselves.

unbeatable staff

This was a good location, only 2 blocks to Nyhavn area. There is no coffee in room, but some in lobby. Hotel breakfast was very expensive. Computer and printer is available in lobby. Umbrellas avaliable, but pricey bike rental.

Good location

For a quick business trip it was convenient, reasonably priced, efficient, clean, etc. -- nothing particularly worthy of note, either good or bad. Convenient (straight metro line from the airport, near the centre of town), so I'd use it again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Umami is just 2-3 minutes' walk away, and offers great Japanese-based food, especially the 6-course "surprise me" menu.

Perfect location good value

Room was small but in perfect spot to walk to restaurants and shops. Breakfast buffet was full a options and service was quick and friendly. Close to metro and 30 minute ride to airport. Also just 5 minute walk to shopping on Stroget. Not fancy but good place to stay if you want to be close to good food, shops and attractions.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Though breakfast is great at hotel - take the 10 minute walk to La Glacé off of Stroget and have a pastry. Get there early or face the line out the door but these flaky sugary treats are worth the wait. Great if you can grab a table but if not take to go. Cash only but they are reasonably priced -coffee is more expensive than the pastry. A must have and you will want to go back for more!!

Going home for a visit

I used to live in Copenhagen and went back to visit family. This hotel is very close to everything you want to do in downtown. You are also close to the metro so you can get to and from the airport very easly. The hotel itself is very nice. The front desk people are quite attentive and made sure everything was going well with my stay. The bar downstairs has great food and the breakfast downsairs is wonderful. I plan on making this the hotel I stay at each time I go to Copenhagen.
