great location for getting to hop on hop off

Room was very clean, decent size. Only problem was the ongoing renovation at our end of the hotel. We were able to check in early. Buying the buffet breakfast was a good deal and the food was good and plentiful.. Advise buying same. Would have liked referrals to restaurants other than their own for dinner, since it had a very limited menu for dinner.

Good hotel for a business traveler...and reasonably priced given exorbitant Copenhagen prices. Contemporary, well-located for transit.

Highly recommend this hotel

Located a short walk from public transportation, Tivoli amusement park, and lots of restaurants. Room was pricey for our standards but it was a good size and comparable to others. We booked the room option that includes breakfast. It's a good, danish style buffet that would cost 150kr each otherwise. It's a city so you will hear sirens and church bells but neither were too annoying. Hotel interior design was elegant and we felt very safe in the neighborhood. The staff was polite and one female desk clerk was very friendly and helpful in providing us information. We aren't likely to be in Denmark again but we would stay here if we returned. Keep in mind most of Copenhagen is expensive and you'll need a pin to use your credit card so plan accordingly. Check out the Copenhagen card - it provides free transportation and admission to several sites for 24 or 72 hours so it can more than pay for itself. This is a beautiful, historic city full of art and incredible architecture so see all you can - you won't regret it.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Every kind of food imaginable within a couple of block walk. Prices include tax and tip so, though it isn't cheap, that helps you feel better about what you are paying.

This hotel sucks

We paid extra to get a hotel in the middle of the city. unfortunately the entire city shuts down during christmas. We got there and the front desk staff told me that there was absolutely nothing to do in the city at this time of year. he suggested nothing. we had to ferret out and finally found a movie theater open almost across the street. couldnt he know that was open? the hotel didn't have a fitness center or any amenities.[...]this hotel sucks.

Imperial Hotel Stay

The hotel is in a good location in terms of interesting places to walk. The main pedestrian streets are open a 5min walk, and other interesting neighborhoods are about 15mins. If you are taking public transportation to the outreaches of the city or to the next town the hotel is right across the street from the depot. Tivoli is beautiful at night, especially late November through December for Christmas. Tivoli was about a 3min walk from the hotel. If you are looking for a show or movie that is close as well, at less than 5min walk. I was able to find interesting bars and restaurants as close as 3mins away walking. The front desk staff was helpful, and usually had decent suggestions for where to shop or eat. I cannot comment on the quality of food or drink in the hotel, as it seemed odd to stay in the hotel when Copenhagen was waiting to be explored! For the night owls Copenhagen was a blast! I never had any issues finding a decent restaurant open for dinner around 10pm. Friday and Saturday nights are worth going out for, as the bars stay open until around 5am, and there is always a food vendor or Swarama (serves gyros, different pitas, etc) open.

All of the larger establishments (restaurants and stores) take international credit cards (the version that is swiped). However, Denmark uses a credit card with a pin number (something more similar to a debit card?). If you go to smaller stores or restaurants sometimes your only bet is cash. Fortunately there is a bank with outside ATMs, and a money exchange about 5mins down the street from the hotel.
