Modern hotel in a peaceful setting just outside the Danish capital
Gentofte Hotel is located in the beautiful, peaceful area of Gentofte, just 5 miles/8 kilometers north of Copenhagen city center. The hotel dates back to 1667 and has played host to royal families of the past as they traveled to and from Fredensborg Castle. The entire building was refurbished in 2008 and is completely modernized. The on-site restaurant is open twice a day, every day with breakfast available as room service. The hotel has a computer in the lobby that is free to use and free wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The Hotel is in the suburbs away from the City Centre but ideal for our visit because we were seeing friends. Breakfast - adequate buffet. Free WiFi with no hassles. Room small but okay for a short stay. Not much hanging space and no shelves or drawers. Beds not really comfortable and shower pressure minimal. Reception friendly and helpful. Ideal for short stay but probably too far away from city for tourists.

Clean and great breakfast. Pierre the night duty clerk even offered me a cup of coffee at 4 O'clock in the morning when I went to the lobby. I lived in Los Angeles and the time difference woke me up early.

About 20 minutes from town on the suburban train. Trains run regularly though. Nice hotel.

Nice, simple hotel
Lovely hotel in beautiful town of Gentofte. Quiet, residential town with some shopping and nearby lakes & park. Easy transportation into Copenhagen, but emphasis on the transportation. This hotel is not within walking distance of the major attractions of Copenhagen; rather it is about 20 - 30 min by train. Good location if you want to see city sites and also some of the beautiful castles up north. Pleasant, friendly, and helpful staff.

There is Netto grocery store about 2 blocks from Gentofte Hotel where you can buy plenty of groceries for much cheaper than if you ate out each meal (and the rooms have refrigerators).

Gentofte Hotel
A little out of the way, but the hotel was nice, clean and quiet. It is only about a 5-10 minute walk to the train and you are in downtown Copenhagen in 20 minutes. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel
Very comfortable beds. Superb breakfast buffet included. The staff were extremely helpful with suggestions on sightseeing, getting taxis, etc.
