VERY Basic

The hotel is located within walking distance to some of the major attractions like Tivoli, Central Train Station, and the shopping streets, which is the one major positive. Otherwise, the hotel tries to present an image of something far more hip than it really is. The "double" room barely fit 2 people. The furnishings were Ikea basic, so not very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was expensive and the food not very good. The same place also served dinner and it cost me $40 for a bowl of pasta and a diet coke. The towels and linens were worse for the wear and the room and bathroom floors felt like they had 20 years of crud on them. There is a pub right next door that gets quite rowdy and loud until late in the night, and you can hear it through the windows that face that side of the street. The hotel is okay, but it needs some serious TLC and updates.

Great location but . . .

there are some issues with this hotel. The location is excellent as it is within walking distance of many major attractions. Some reviewers commented on how small the rooms are. They're not Tokyo or New York small; they're average for European cities. The bathroom is nicely appointed with Hansgrohe fixtures; the bedding is fine. The breakfast buffet is nice but pricey at roughly $28 per person (although there are not many reasonable options nearby). The hotel could use some sprucing up; it's showing some signs of wear and tear, and the fact that we had rats in the walls and ceiling made for an interesting (more amusing than anything) stay (although none ever came into the room and there were no signs of them.) I think for the price better places are available.

First Hotel Twenty Seven Copenhagen

Ideal central location- 5 minutes from Tivoli Gardens & Christiansborg Palace. Excellent breakfast- attractive & very clean rooms. Staff are very helpful & speak excellent English. My only adverse comments are that : The room & the bathroom were rather small. The bar & the restaurant were shut by 10am on Sunday so couldn't buy a coffee or hot chocolate [none in room] after a hard days sightseeing. The lift is eccentric and if use of room key to get to floors is misunderstood it sticks between floors.

Good value for Copenhagen

This hotel in any other city would be considered average. Very small rooms. Overpriced breakfast. No service. Welcome to expensive Copenhagen. I would stay here again!

First Hotel 27

Club music thumping away constantly in lobby bar and outside patio area made this hotel not desirable. You can hear the pounding on the 4th floor of the hotel. At least it stops around midnight. then the town hall chimes wake you at 8 a.m. Beds are very uncomfortable and rooms are tiny.

small room

ROOM IS VERY SMALL ACCORDING TO AMERICAN STANDARDS ,about 100 square feet. JUST BARELY ABLE TO WALK AROUND THE ROOM AFTER PUTTING DOWN A 25 INCH BAG. However, very good location just behind the City Hall and walking distance to all the sightseeing location in the city center. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and great included buffet breakfast.

immaculate & fresh-smelling; great location

My biggest concern in any hotel is the smell of the room and the bathroom. This hotel won hands-down. It was clean, fresh-smelling, and the shower had very hot water to invigorate my body after 20 hours of traveling. Not a great fan of black-tiled bathrooms, but everything else was first-rate!

Perfect location for young professional travelers/vacationers

This was a great hotel. I was in town for the Copenhagen marathon with three friends (30-40 years old). It was in a great location near the center of the city. The rooms were perfect for what we needed, clean, comfortable. They are not huge (by US standards), but they are good sized and you aren't supposed to be spending that much time in your room in Copenhagen on vacation. There is a great cocktail bar in the lobby (Honeyryder Lounge), though the Icebar next door is now shuttered. The staff were professional and direct, helping out with any issues that we had (there weren't many). I didn't partake in the breakfasts in the hotel, but there are great bakeries/coffee places nearby if you want something quick and light. There was a bit of noise (there is a clock town in the city center that rings until midnight, and if you are facing the street, there can be a little bit of noise from the bars on the street), but it was nothing that detracted from the hotel overall. If you are early to bed, you may want to keep that in mind. I'd definitely stay at First Hotel Twentyseven in the future.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

If you enjoy craft cocktails, there's a cocktail bar, Ruby, about 4 blocks from the hotel at Nybrogade 10. It's unmarked from the street, but it worth the trip to stop in while you're there. It can get busy in the evening, so you may want to make reservations (Sun - Thurs) or get there a bit early to make sure you get a seat..
