Dining

Tivolihallen
On the ground floor hotel has the Tivolihallen lunch restaurant. Tivolihallen is one of Copenhagens absolute best restaurants for open-faced sandwiches (smorrebrod), as well as one of the few places where you can still try the old Nordic delicacy called Klipfisk. In the evening the traditional Danish cuisine is on the menu. Try for instance "Rodgrod med flode". Tivolihallen is open on weekdays between 11.30 am and 4.30 pm. Tuesday to Saturday also evenings from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
Dinner
On the corner of Farvergade and Gasegade near the cosy little square called Vandkunsten and a mere 100 m. from Hotel Danmark is Reinwalds, a lunch restaurant hotel highly recommend. Reinwalds menu is inspired by the freshest seasonal ingredients. The cooking is Danish, with touches of inspiration from both the classical and modern French cooking. Monday to Saturday 2.00 pm to Midnight (the kitchen closes at 10.00 pm). Sunday and holidays - closed.
Gammel Strand
Near Frederiksholm canal, only minutes' walk from the hotel, is Gammel Strand and a chance to sip a lovely cafe latte outdoors or enjoy a relaxing stroll along the canal. The area offers a wide variety of eating out opportunities, from small cafes to gourmet restaurants. During the Summer, Gammel Strand hosts an exciting antique market and is one of the mandatory stops for the canal tours.

Anniversary adventure

The staff were open and friendly - they couldn't do enough for you. The location was perfect and not noisy atall as expected. The small room suited our needs fine though being British we would love to have been able to make a cup of tea in our room in the morning. Great bike hire and delicious breakfasts. :)

A place to just crash after a full day of sightseeing

Excellent location, one block away from the National Museum and Tivoli, 10 minute walk from train station. Bathroom is small (so is the elevator: 2 persons with carry-ons will fill the whole space). The TV, 110V outlet, and two lamps didn't work in our room.

Location!

The location of this hotel could not be any better. It is walking distance to most major museums, the train station, Tivoli Gardens. The rooms are pretty basic but well thought out and very comfortable. There is a nice little cafe on the ground floor where they have a wine happy hour in the evening. Copenhagen was the most expensive city we visited in Europe and this hotel is a very good value. We would stay again.

Perfect city break experience

What is lacking in the size and decor of the rooms is more than made up for by the charm of the diningroom/lounge and outside seating areas. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Very helpful and eager to please and the location couldn't have been any more perfect. Great breakfast and a nice treat with a free glass of wine between 5-6pm I'll definitely be back...

Great location

We enjoyed our stay very much. We suspect that there were a lot of people hoping to stay there as we were asked to downsize from 2 rooms to one, which we did and for which we received drink coupons and free breakfasts. Lovely, older place and we've stayed at a few.

Uncomfortable heat

The room, located at the front of the building, had all three windows facing the Sun for most of the day. As they were all double glazed & couldn't be opened & given the heatwave conditions, the room became uncomfortably HOT (not warm) as the day wore on. The staff, however, were very helpful & courteous & I would return (In different weather conditions!!!!)

Good location, about what you would expect for the cost.

Overall we had a pleasant experience. The room was about what you would expect for the price, but the location made this a pretty good value for us.
