Charming maritime hotel in the heart of the Danish capital

The Copenhagen Strand is superbly located in the heart of Copenhagen, overlooking Copenhagen Harbor, just a stone's throw away from Nyhavn, Amalienborg, and the Strøget shopping district. The hotel is housed in one of the original waterfront warehouses, which dates back to 1869. The old building has been beautifully and carefully restored. The decor has been kept rustic with a slightly maritime style, making it one of the city's most charming hotels.

a quiet in-town Copenhagen hotel

Staff personnel were more than polite: they were friendly and eager to answer all questions whether about their hotel services or transportation in the city. And they all spoke/understood English.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

Take the Nettboro boat tour of the canals: it cost half of what the others do and is just a step away from the Strand Hotel doorstep.

Great Location

Is very close to Nyhaven, Stroget, and walking distance to everywhere, when we ask for a different room ( because you have to climb to your bed ) the difference was 50% more, we hear others guest also asking for different rooms and everybody was very upset for the difference in price, so if you book this hotel be prepare.

go to christania, is the place that hippies are, and is very unique, be prepare for something unusual.

Hotel room

Although we thought the room we booked would be a good value. Upon checking in we were told that this room was extremely small and less than a double size bed. Therefore we upgraded at an additional $16 per night.

Copenhagen Strand Hotel

What you gain in location, you lose in room size. One could hardly move around with the luggage after a 7 day cruise. People were extremely friendly and helpful and breakfast was outstanding. Room size is the only issue. Otherwise, a great value for the money.

A nice place conveniently located.

Very convenient for strolling along the canal area. Copenhagen is very expensive, so it's a good deal in terms of US $. Helpful staff, clean, but no amenities. No A/C in rooms. For an overnight stay just fine but would not recommend for any lengthy stays.

nice hotel, good location

Copenhagen Strand Hotel was nice enough for our trip. With a 5 minutes walk to Nyhavn and 10 to Stroget, it was in a quiet, yet convenient location.

Clean hotel, good location

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious. It's located within a short walking distance of shopping and dinning. I was traveling with my husband and fifteen years old niece and the room was kind of small for three people. I didn't realize that this is not an air conditioned hotel prior to booking and it was hot. The staff tried to help out by bringing us a fan but it was not enough to cool the room. I have learned a valuable lesson; always confirm that the hotel provides air conditioning prior to booking.

Close but not that close to Nyhavn

The hotel is quite a few blocks from Nyhavn and the metro station, about 10 minutes walk to each location. Standard double room is a little tight, not much room to put your bags or sit. The bathroom is nice and good size. A lot of good restaurants close by. Check out the restaurant, Sahil on the next block for excellent curry. Breakfast was included with our room and excellent. Good value for the money. Would stay here again.

About 10 minutes walk to metro station, stroget or Nyhavn. You can walk to Amalieborg palace in 20 minutes. Very nice walk along the water front pass Nyhavn.

good location

Nice and clean. We have a little balcony with water view, so cute. Room is small but it's Europe? :) very good location, 10 min walking distance to Nyhavn. front desk stuff are friendly and very helpful.
