Perfect for visiting Charles Bridge area

This hotel is located close to the stimulating evening life of the Charles Bridge. The staff were the friendliest and most eager to help we encountered in 35 days of travel. The breakfast was the best ever and the staff volunteered to pack a breakfast for our very early departure. It was sufficient to provide our lunch too.

Great location for the castle and bridge

more authentic bohemian style hotel and rooms. we loved the easy access to the bridge but still tucked away so its quiet. the courtyard in quaint. breakfast is average but overall for the price and location we were happy. we would stay here again. its relaxing and the little coffee shop/wine bar next door is lovely at night where can look up at the castle wall

Gem of a hotel

I stayed as a single guest at the Waldstein for 4 nights recently. With the exception of the Wi-Fi that didn't allow me to send e-mail, the hotel was excellent. My room and bathroom were smaller and not as pretty as those pictured on the Web site; however, it was still pretty, roomy and had "character" and looked over both the parking lot and courtyard. The staff members were extremely helpful and spoke English very well. The breakfast buffet was quite good -tasty and varied. One of the best features of the Waldstein is how close it is to two different tram stops and the Metro - three to four minutes on foot, and about a five minute walk to the Charles Bridge. There are many restaurants from which to choose and of varying price ranges. There is also a Catholic church practically next door which has daily Mass. One caveat: when arriving be aware that there are two Hotel Waldstein. The first you see is a 5 star. The second is down and around the corner (the cobblestones are killers). It can be a little noisy late at night when guests return because sound travels easily but for the most part the hotel is very quiet. I highly recommend the Waldstein and would stay there again.

Value hotel with traditional decor

Excellent location close to Charles Bridge, the Castle and Cathedral. Also close to underground station. Nice large room with another bedroom ideal for 2 children, a kitchenette and a big bathroom. Lots of wood panelling and wooden frame beds. Modern flat screen TV but only a couple of news channels in English. No proper restaurant but breakfast provided in the cellar with cooked food, cereal, fruit, cold meat and cheese, yoghurt, cakes, toast etc. Staff helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Free internet in the entrance. Some rooms (our was) are located directly onto the cobbled cul de sac close to the entrance to the hotel. This meant that we did sometimes have cars park outside our windows which looked directly out. Overall we were happy with the hotel and enjoyed our stay.

If you like lovely glass dishes then make sure you visit some of the shops along the way to Charles Bridge. Fantastic modern and traditional designs.

short city break

We were made very welcome when we arrived late evening & shown to our room personally. The room was in the annex. Lovely old solid wood furniture & good prints on the walls. Bathroom clean with adequate toiletries, only downside was when you put the shower attachment up on the hook on the wall it was too taut for the water to come out! It was useful to have free access to the internet via a computer in the lounge so no need to take your own if travelling light. I would recommend this hotel as it was close to the city centre & therefore lots of the main attractions

Staying in Prague!

This hotel has a great breakfast, friendly staff, and it is located close to Charles Bridge in Prague. You have to park your car at a parking place 10-15 minute walk from the hotel for an extra fee... but this is how Prague is- can't blame the hotel. Once you are in the city, you can walk everywhere you need to go. I would stay here again.

Huge room for reasonable price

Romm was stylish, old fashion, but this is what we expected but clean and huge!!! Actually two rooms, two baths, 6 people could easily sleep there. Almost half of the floor. Location perfect, close to the castle, nice walking to the old town. Breakfast perfect, not what is called in america a continental breakfast. Nice people, will store your luggage if you leave in the evening and I think they are even surprised when you tip them. Good english, free internet, even minibar reasonably priced. Really good value.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Planty of dining in short distance for $15-20. Of course you can eat pizza for $2 (one slice), if you prefer. Avoid taxis from a stand as they will try to drive you around the city 5 times.
