Where else in Prague you can stay in a place where a baroque church gem lies next door, where you hear the chant of the convent with organ playing, where breathtaking history wrote amazing stories of the Jesuits, the Grey Sisters of St. Franciscus, Communist Secret Police with its infamous prison incarcerating hotel's president to be Mr. Vaclav Havel and H.R.H. Prince of Wales paying him a tribute in person. There is just one answer to this simple question: it is The Unitas House. It has the location, it has its great story and it has the ambiance created by a couple of Czech hotel enthusiasts who still believe in honesty of business and fair hospitality. Unitas House provides spacious guestrooms designed, furnished and equipped by its own management using carefully chosen imflammable fabrics, carpets and decorations with large King Size beds, comfortable sofas and exotic chairs. All colours are in harmony with the building. Locally made furniture fits into the ambiance and underlines the cosiness of the place. Without saying goes free internet connection and wire less, Sat TV with own DVD player, direct dial telephone, minibar, big safe box for notebooks, air-condition. Bathrooms are unusually large, either with bath tubes or showers and design wash basins with cosmetic mirrors, hairdryers and plenty of space to feel comfortable and free. 24 Hours Reception Lobby Bar, Own Secure Parking, Breakfast, la Carte Non Smoking Rooms. All Major CC Accepted, Internet Access, Cabel / Wireless, Air Condition in All Guest Areas, Books & DVD, Library EU Security Standards.

Best Hotel of our trip!

We just stayed four nights at the Unitas Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and they know the tram system well. Our room spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was huge, beautiful and sparkling clean. The breakfast bar was sumptious and varied with the option of an ala carte omelet if you could not find what you liked! Last but not least, the hotel's location was incredibly convenient. It was just far enough from the center of Old Town to avoid the crowds yet easy to find--an asset in a city with so many small streets. We would not consider staying anywhere else if we had the opportunity to return to Prague.

Visit Villa Muller if you are interested in the Czech "Functional" style of modern architecture. Book your reservations on line. It's easy to get there by the 18 tram.

Excellent hotel

Prague is inexpensive in comparison with Western Europe. The room at this hotel was less expensive but spacious and much more comfortable than our room at a four-star Paris hotel. Breakfast was excellent - a buffet with any food you might want. The staff is super friendly. The hotel is very well run. There's even a lounge in the courtyard with white, clean blankets. Prague is difficult to navigate but interesting.

Wonderful hotel in quiet location

The hotel is on a quiet street, a five to ten minute walk from most Old Town sites. The staff was very helpful in recommending nearby restaurants. The building was once a convent and later was used by the secret police for interrogations. The basement room which housed Vaclav Havel has been preserved. Rooms are bright and immaculate.

Charming launching point to Prague's beauty

Unitas is staffed by educated, classy, and knowledgeable young people who can help you maximize your Prague experience. The rooms are simple and elegant (and immaculate) and the bathrooms are palatial by central European standards. This hotel is ideally located in Old Town Prague, within ten minutes walk of most of the major attractions, including Old Town Square, Wenseslas Square, the National Theater, the Municipal House, the Jewish Quarter, etc. I will never stay anywhere else in Prague.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Parnas is a gem of a restaurant, in original 1930's art deco, with an incredible chef and reasonable prices- inexplicably never crowded. We ate there three times and it was fabulous every time.

Unitas Hotel in Prague

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location perfect. Five minutes away from Old Town, Wenceslas Square and the Charles Bridge. There a dressing room as well as the bedroom and large bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Breakfast excellent and a nice touch was that breakfast was served until 11am.

Do a boat trip. We also took a boat trip on the canal. Very interesting. We managed to walk everywhere. If you want tickets for the tram, get them from the hotel. We also did a half day tour to Kutna Hora which was well worth it.

easy

nothing bad to say. Great staff, great location, great room. It is easy to get almost anywhere from there. One added benefit is that it is right across from the police station, so there are no concerns about personal safety. Probably the best feature are the breakfasts. There is a great buffet and you can also special order crepes, omelets, and different types of egg dishes. Also, every day between four and six there are snacks in the lobby. Another positive feature is the internet which is free and there are also two machines that were always available. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wishes a relaxing and easy stay in Prague. I will definitely rebook there next time I am in Prague.

Lovely place for exploring

Hotel Unitas was a great hotel, located within easy walking distance of most of Prague's main sites. The staff was friendly, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the included breakfast was always a great way to start the day (great variety!). I would both return and recommend it to others.

Great hotel at a great price and excellent location

Great place, helpful staff and lovely breakfast Great location close to all the sites yet in a secluded neighborhood. Great value. The staff was very helpful always. We stayed there for 8 nights and have nothing but nice things to say about this place.
