Revealing all!!
My wife and I decided to visit Prague last minute during Easter weekend this year. After scouring the internet for room rates, I realized that the rooms in Prague were booking left and right and the prices were incredibly marked up. 4 stars were going for 600+ and 2 stars were going for 250+. I've been to Prague before so I was shocked but figured it was my fault for waiting last minute, especially since Prague is a huge Easter destination with their Easter markets and festivities. I finally found a room with Prague Golden Age. It met the criteria I was looking for: good location in relation to city sights and at least a three star. I booked the supposed "King Suite" Upon arriving I realized that it had the perfect location. Located between Wenceslas square and Old Town. Short walking distance from both as well as the Charles Bridge. However, when walking into this small, quaint hotel, I realized it was just that small and quaint. The stairs to this hotel were so difficult to maneuver that it was almost impossible to bring my child's stroller up the stairs. The supposed "King Suite" was well big and that's about it. It was worn down and definitely needed some renovation. The bathroom and the bed sheets were clean and nice however. The carpet was old the AC didn't work the fan in the room didn't work. The internet port didn't work. I was pretty upset at the fact that I paid 300 USD a night for a room of this caliber. I came back that night at about 5am and you are required to knock on the door. Well, I knocked and guess who answered the "disgruntled" employee who was getting paid to sleep. She seemed so irate that I had woken her from her sleep. Well, the morning shift receptionist was nice and friendly at least!! This hotel has the ideal location all they need now is a renovation or at least lower the room rates!!

A quaint, well located hotel
The hotel is in an old building with winding stairs and atleast our room was small, but comfortable. The bath room was very modern and the water always hot! It was located in the center of the old town, an easy walk to the things to see in prague. It was just noisy at night. The street market is right outside the front door so trinket shopping was easy.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Bring a good guide book and just go. You can walk almost everywhere, even up to the castle. Almost all of the service people speak some English so for Americans it is easy. Just not as cheap as it once was.
