On the positive - The price was very good for the location. The service was good. On the negative - I had to walk up a ... flight of stairs with my luggage (no elevator on the top floor) and my door was tough to open. Prague is a beautiful, historic city. The castle is huge and the shopping areas and cafes are wonderful.

Noisy, but OK
Terry Oct 9, 2009
This hotel is trying- it is clean, and staff are very helpful and pleasant. We booked a room for our anniversery trip, and ... stayed here for 5 nights to see the sights in Prague. I was originally booked for a double and a twin bed- when we got to our room, there were two, fairly uncomfortable (although pretty) twin beds. We pushed them together, intending to make do, and the maid ending up trying to make the bed as a double, which was appreciated. The street noise was unbelievable- delivery trucks start delivering food early in the AM to the local restaurants. On the plus side, it is located in an area that has lots of small, good, inexpensive restaurants, and the sights are definitely accessible. We paid a fair price for the hotel, so the price was fine- but if you stay here- request a room in the back- you will sleep better!

the housekeeper return my handphone that we left in the room to the receptionist after the check out. I was pleased with ... their honesty and integrity in work. They are friendly and approachable at all times. The room is also well cleaned every day, however, improvement can be made in the toilet because there is no curtain in the bathtub, thus the toilet will be wet after the shower. There isnt any internet in our room, though there is wifi at the lobby area.

DON'T LET THEM RE-ROUTE YOU !!!
Maria Sep 29, 2009
when we arrived they had overbooked the hotel and REROUTED us to Hotel Christie, when we got to this hotel it was so bad, so ... small that you have no place to even lay your suitecase, aside from that the carpet were so dirty but the bathroom is new. the room is so old. So we complained to hotel caesar receptionist Suzanne and she brought us back to Hotel Caesar the next day, Hotel Caesar is completely remodeled and nice. So make sure you don't allow them to re-route you to another hotel, I think its their problem if they over book.

Caesar Palace is a quiet, clean hotel; a good value for the money. My only complaints are that the closet, although large, ... had a strange setup with a lot of wasted space and the bathroom (also large) could use more shelf space. Prague is a wonderful, safe and reasonably priced city.

This hotel is a little farther off the Old Town Square than I normally stay but other thsan a few minutes extra walk it was a ... wonderful hotel. Staff was very friendly, helpful and proffessional. Breakfast was very good andthe free in room internet was great. I had a great room- very large and modern but decorated with antoques and it had a warm feel to it. If you will be bothered by late night or early morning noise request a room in the back. Mine was on the dtreet and it was loud. Definitely a hotel I would go back to.

NO COMPLAINTS
Benelux7 Sep 15, 2009
This hotel was a pleasant surprise in many ways. We had read the staff here was unfriendly so expected the worst. To our ... great surprise, these were some of the friendliest people we have ever met and they went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be. Perhaps management had read some of the earlier reviews and impressed upon the staff what a difference a positive attitude would make. Whatever happened, it worked. Our rooms were spotless and the housekeeping staff friendly. Breakfast is served in a very cheerful dining room w/terrace access. The food is plentiful and may not all be to your liking but there are enough choices that your will not go away hungry. There is a daily house speciality showcased on a special table. These were all excellent the days we were there. Behind the bar is an area equipped with 3 computers, all connected to free high speed internet. This hotel is on a wonderful street with nice shops and restaurants (even a gem of a pastry shop next door). A very short walk in one direction gets one to a tram stop, and the other direction the river. We travel a great deal, and are not foolish, and always felt safe. Prague is a captivating city. Should we return to see outlying areas we would definitely stay at The Caesar Palace again. Well done!

We took tram #22 from this hotel up to Prague Castle. It crosses the bridge and meanders through great neighborhoods that are fun for people watching. Buy tickets at the Tabac near the hotel.

Leave anything valuable in the safe
JS Sep 7, 2009
Definitely keep everything in the safe. My _locked_ baggage was broken into and I had over $300 stole. The internet ... connection is wired in the rooms and didn't work the first night... wireless is only available in the lobby. They did move me to another room the next day but it's not fun lugging your work stuff to the lobby to get something done. While the hotel is cute and the reception staff is helpful, everything else is a thumbs down... avoid this place.

A comfortable hotel with excellent staff
Lylabella Sep 7, 2009
The hotel was comfortable with roomy rooms and the staff extremely helpful. The location was very convenient and easily ... accessible to public transportation. The breakfast had something for everyone but the coffee was disappointing. The rooms were reasonably clean but there were some sticky spots left by drinks on the bed stand which we eventually cleaned ourselves. It was frustrating not to be able to use the WiFi connection, which is advertised, in the room. All this being said I would stay there again if I ever get a chance to return to Prague.

There is a small, 24 hr convenience store down the street from the hotel. It was nice to be able to grab a quick snack and beer at a much lower cost than at the hotel.

Ask the hotel for a wine bar just around the corner, going left out of the hotel, to the main intersection, take a left, then take a right...something like that, ask the hotel, the place has three underground bars, and a wine bar on top...amazing place!

There are free tours of the old city that meet at 10AM and 2PM each day in the old town square (northwest corner), just tip the tour guide. They hold up signs so you can find them. From what I've heard from people who took more expensive tours and these free tours, the free tours provided by these college kids were much better. Free tours are also provided in Spanish.
