Assenzio Hotel is situated just in the heart of Prague 2, in a privileged position along the road which leads to Wenceslao Square, the Natural History Museum and the Clock Tower, and a short distance from Charles Bridge and the Castle. The city's major attractions are situated within a short walking distance but guests will also have the possibility to reach the underground station, which is situated only 5 minutes far from the hotel, I.P. Pavlova. Triangle, compass and plumb line: these are the Masonic symbols which were used by expert architects to turn this imposing stately home into a luxury hotel. These are the origins of Assenzio Hotel in Prague: the careful restoration of this XIX-century palace was carried out by expert architects who were able to retain the original outer structure realized according to Prague's traditional architectural style. Some inner patterns - such as the travertine staircase, the stuccoes which embellish both the hall and the ground floor and the brick cellar - are the most representative landmarks of this outstanding combination of ancient and modern architectural elements. Utmost passion and professionalism contributed to turn this Neoclassical building into a wonderful four-star hotel.

ideal for public transportation

We always take public transportation and this was a good location about 6 blocks from the metronome at IP Pavlova. Can walk to Wenceslaus Square and tons of shopping. Easy transfer to Florence and the bus centre also. The breakfast even had real scrambled eggs and poached eggs. The only negative thing I can say is cheap pillows and no hair conditioner. Also our room was next to a very busy street that had constant traffic from 6:00 am on all day so if you are a light sleeper ask for a different room. They even have refrigerators and safes in each room.

Had to be honest at the moment I arrive at the airport and noticed there was no1 waiting for us even when I make a reservation for a pick up I called the hotel and they said they did a "mistake" well. we had a good time in the country and the hotel staff where very very very nice and caring. So I didn't mind what happened at the airport at all. The hotel is not in the center but if you enjoy a nice walking on the morning or evening is perfect like 10mins depend on your speed lol. Usually a taxi from old town center to the hotel cost 400 :/ some 150 I dunno what happened there but well it's vacation time relax and take it easy. The A/C doesn't work as it should the room get kinda hot but if you open a window it's fine ( or maybe it's our Latin blood) to order something to eat forget it if the restaurant is busy I don't know how they do it. And if you want to be on the bar make sure to let the front desk know you are there cuz they are the bartenders also :/ but overall we enjoy our stay

Amazing location

We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who spoke english very well (as does everyone in prague). Although the check in is at 2pm we were able to store our luggage in a locked room until check in was available, this gave us time to get our bearings as to the location of the main tourist attractions and public transport links. The hotel is located far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city but not too far as to feel cut off a 10 minute walk down the road and you're in wenscelas square! A 5 minute walk down the road and you arrive at I P Pavlova, one of the main metro and tram stations from which you can get to anywhere in the city, there is also a tram stop called bruselska which is about 2 minutes walk east from the hotel which is useful if you do not wish to walk too much. It is well worth purchasing either a one or three day transport ticket for a small price which allows you travel on metro, tram and bus anywhere within zone 1 (central) of the city, don't forget to validate it by punching the ticket in the yellow box (present on all modes of transport & in metro stations) or you may recieve a fine of up to 800 czech crowns. The hotel rooms are well equipped with full body mirror, air conditioning, wardrobe, fridge, safe, hairdryer, tv etc and the staff are ready to help if you require anything else. The shower/bath and bathroom are equally well equipped shower gels and soaps are given and new towels supplied each day. Breakfast was also included with the room, in the form of a buffet with the choice of continental foods, cooked breakfast (eggs bacon etc) served until 10.30am allowing you to get your fill before exploring the sites of Prague. Overall an enjoyable stay in a nice, quiet hotel with all the amenities, friendly, helpful staff within a prime location close to main metro and tram lines, I have no complaints and would definitely reccomend this hotel to everyone.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Definitely purchase a travel ticket not forgetting to validate it and use the public transport it'll save you a lot of time and walking and is an experience in itself. There is also a brilliant italian restraunt called giovannis tucked away in an archway near old town square, look out for it!

Great value hotel

The hotel is in a fantastic location; just a short stop away from Wenceslas square this hotel is within walking distance of the attractions of the city, and plenty of transport links. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable and the staff are superb - speaking many languages. It's a great place to stay and on a value basis it is much better than many others in the city. The only warning is that those with electric shavers should make sure they are charged - the city does not have an electric shaver plug socket in the rooms.

Cafe Ebel has the most fantastic range of coffee, cakes and snacks - well worth a quick visit on an afternoon if you can find it (lurking amongst the streets of Old Town, near Charles St/Karlova)

Very nice pleasant stay

My wife and I are not fussy tourists, so we are not too hard to please but WE KNOW what we do not want!. We really enjoyed this Hotel which has all that is needed, with a very friendly, quiet and helpful staff. The buffet breakfast was good and plentiful. A mere 15 minute walk from where the action starts. We found it really good value for money. Suggestions: 1. Get the rooms that are not on the main road as they are very quiet. 2. If English speaking, ask for a room that has an English News channel.

Perfect escape from daily grind

We were looking to get away for 6 days (5 nights) from our work, bringing up the kids, etc. Someone had mentioned they enjoyed visiting Prague. We arrived at around 10:15am and bought a ticket for just over £1 each to get from the airport to our hotel by bus, tarm and metro - fabulous experience! We were warmly greeted at reception and could not beleive the room we were given - it was on 2 different levels with the lower level being a lounge with sofa-bed, wardrobe and excellent bathroom then upstairs to the king sized bed with another wardrobe. The reception staff then proceeded to tell us what was good to see and pointed everything out on the map for us - because we were there for 5 nights we could go to see many of the "Non-tourist" attractions and the staff were relly good with advice on everything. Also it was my wifes birthday whilst we were there and they orgnised a fabulous cake and some bubbly to be sent up to our room on the day! Breakfasts were included and the dining room only closed at 10:30am to set up for the next function - breakfasts were great and included all the continental options as well as bacon and eggs, etc. We had an excellent dinner one evening in the dining room which is in the cellar and it was superb. The public areas were looking a bit threadbare and the receptioist then mentioned that the hotel was due for a complete makeover shortly so it will be in-line with their sister hotels. We have stayed in some very plush and expensive hotels in our time but this one was by far our best stay yet. The City of Prague combined with the staff and feel of Hotel Assenzio made for afabulous holiday.
