Vacation

We stayed for 20 days and we had a great time at this hotel. All the staff from the moment we got there until the day we left was excellent. For us this was the perfect location, because we didnt want to stay in the tourist side of town. There was so many shops, bars, markets and resturants with in steps of the hotel. Plus we were giving a free upgrade to a room with a kitchen because of how long our stay was. The breakfast in the morning was always great! And everything is in walking distance, nothing is more than a 15 min walk to see all the sites, plus trans are right around the corner. We would so stay here again!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Eat, Drink, Shop all right by the hotel, so cheap. Old Town is very pricey. And get a tram pass the cheapest and fastest way to travel all over the city.

Christmas Present

The hotel was a Christmas present for me and my partner and we chose on reviews as well as star rating. The hotel was a fair distance from town which wasn't evident from the website. The room was very nice, tidy and clean, but they only left tea bags on day one, and never any milk. The heating was on full and unbearably hot so we opened the windows but the bar opposite was a bit noisy. The staff were excellent though, and very helpful

Excellent value hotel

It is a very good hotel in a quiet street, a bit bit away from town centre. Because of the cobbled streets and tramlines it was noisy at night, but probably most would be the same. The breakfast was excellent, but no other meals were available, which didn't matter as we wanted to eat in the town most of the time. My only criticism was the lack of tea and coffee in our room though a kettle was provided. We were told to buy some at the local supermarket! I would definitely stay there again.

hotel galileo Prague

We enjoyed the location of this hotel; it was slightly away from the busy tourist section but within easy walking distance. The metro was 2 blocks away and the shopping district about a 10 minute walk and old towne about a 20 minute walk. We are in our mid 50's and had no problem walking to see the sites. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Do not take a cab unless you don't care about $$. The shuttles are reasonable from the airport and train station and the metro fills in the rest of your needs.

Lots of good inexpensive food near the restaurant. Be careful everywhere because they will short change you or have "bad math" if you are not paying attention.

Excellent Hotel

For the money, the hotel is great. It is close enough distance to walk to old town area and it has good access to public transportation. The staff was helpful and the room size and cleanliness are at a very good level. The breakfast is very nice too and they have a good range of hours 7-11 for breakfast.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

I like to walk and it is a nice long walk to the city square. I walked it several times and didn't need public transportation. The city is safe and even at night I felt safe walking. It is cold for me in the winter, so the walk was a little difficult for me in February.

Great bargain!

This was a fantastic deal! 4 nights for a very *very* good rate (it was off-season). The room was great - clean and cared for. The staff was always kind (English proficiencies varied). The breakfast was lame, and the sign that taking breakfast food out of the restaurant was forbidden was a bit off-putting. Still, a very convenient location to see the major sites (at least 20 minutes walking or 10 minutes by tram). I would recommend this.

Near Josofov is a restaurant called "Monarch." Order a Czech Sauvignon something or other and the cheese plate. It's 800Kc, and one of the best meals of my life.

The hotel and staff were excellent

The hotel and staff were excellent and I would definitely consider staying there again. Staff spoke english and were always willing to help with directions and advice, breakfast was quite reasonable, and the metro was only a short walk away. There's a nice restaurant bar across the road from the hotel (which they recommend) but it's also worth walking around as there are a number of others that the locals frequent nearby. Enjoyed our stay.

Good location

I emailed the hotel prior to our arrival to book the hotel taxi to collect us at the airport, and phoned the day of travel to confirm this. The hotel had no trace of the booking, but did arrange it there and then. I had also upgraded our rooms to executive rooms, and arranged for flowers, fruit and champagne to be put in my mum's room for her birthday. Unfortunately there were no flowers in the room, and although I had booked a twin executive room for me and my sister, we were given the key to a double executive room. As we were sharing the room, I didn't want to sleep with my sister. The night manager, [...], was most unhelpful, and handed me the key to a standard twin, and his attitude indicated he couldn't give a stuff about the lack of flowers and what did I expect him to do about it at 7pm at night! An apology for the omission would have been a start, but that was not forthcoming! He advised me to speak to the manager the following morning, which I did. I then asked for a refund between the cost of the executive and standard room, and was met with a point blank refusal. When I pressed him, he said they might be able to stretch to a "free" bottle of sparkling wine. Again, no apology. During our 4 day stay, the wine did not materialise. In addition, our bins were not emptied and dirty glasses from our first night's stay stayed in both of our rooms for the 4 days we were there - not what I would have expected! The day before our return to the UK, I asked for confirmation with the day manager [...], that they had our return taxi booking to the airport. Once again, no trace of the booking I had made by email 2 months prior to our arrival. Again, a last minute booking was made, but did nothing to improve our opinion of the hotel staff. If you book here, check and double check everything!
