Excellent in Every Way
Prague Courtyard Hotel is not in the center of the city but close enough with good subway and tram access so that it might as well be. Nice to have a big room with a kingsize bed (very unusual for this class hotel in Europe). Tha staff was efficient, polite and helpful (my bag got lost on its way to Prague--hotel staff continued to track it until it arrived the next day). Had only one meal in hotel restaurant: very interesting menu, well prepared food, and not at all expensive. I go to Prague often and will definitely try to stay here again.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
The excellent Flora indoor shopping center is just across the street. Good selections, good prices and better than average food court. Buy a few things in Alberts food store there to keep in hotel room fridge and avoid having to get dressed for breakfast. Save money too.

Great hotel
This is a classic American-style hotel in Europe. Our room was average-to-large for an American hotel, which made it huge compared to most European hotel rooms. We had a real king bed, not two singles pushed together, a large bathroom with a real tub, and a coffee pot. There was an ice machine on every floor, something we didn't see at any of the other 6 hotels we stayed at in three weeks in Czech Rep, Austria, and Hungary. The location is very convenient, with a shopping mall, Metro, and tram stops right across the street. The only downsides were the high prices in the restaurant and for in-room Internet. WiFi is free in the lobby, but slow.

I stayed at the Prague Courtyard Flora Marriott with my 6 yo daughter and college aged niece and nephew. We enjoyed the clean, comfortable rooms and the excellent service from the staff at the hotel. I thought the fitness room was sufficient, but my niece and nephew, who are more into fitness than I, felt it was small and not particularly well-equipped. We wish there had been a pool at the hotel, as we are used to this amenity when staying at a hotel of this type and enjoy relaxing in the pool when on vacation, however, we knew ahead of time that this was not available. The hotel is very near the subway and only a few stops to the main sites in the older part of the city, and we got an amazing deal on the rooms, however, I would probably choose a location more in the middle of things if I were to do it over again. I have to stress, however, that the location was very good, all things considered.

METRO: On the first night, the staff at the front desk recommended that we get a day pass for the metro for the equivalent of $5 (USD). The cheapest ticket is the equivalent of less than a dollar and takes you as far as you are likely to go if you are sightseeing in the center of Prague. All the sights are close enough to each other to walk to, so you don't need to take more than two trips a day on the metro - one into the center and one back to the hotel. FOOD: There is a grocery store across the street in the mall. Instead of eating out for every meal, we bought some fruit, bread, and jam and had breakfast in our rooms each morning.
