A most pleasant hotel.

Although a little removed from the center of sights, 20minutes walk from Wenceslas Square) a hotel that ticked all the boxes. A superb breakfast, very comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms made for an excellent place to stay. The staff are very helpful and courteous. Booking the City tour through the hotel was a good move as was the airport transfer. The return transfer was akin to a Prague Grande Prix drive ! but timely and convenient.

Well located, confortable, affordable

My wife and I were at the Ametyst for two weeks. We had a great visit in Prague. We also went to Cesky Krumluv, Pilzen and Hutna Hora by train. We had a spectacular impression of the beauty of these places. The only negative note is in regard to the smoking rules of the restaurants and bars where it was difficult to find smoke free places. The Hotel is well kept and clean. The beds are very hard. Breakfast is a buffet offering a good varity of cereals, cold meats and cheese, breads, assorted jams and preserved with occasionnal fresh fruits. The scrambled eggs were often not cooked enough. No smoking was allowed during breakfast. The Hotel is located at 5 minutes walk from a main tramway and subway station. The street beside the hotel takes you to Prague main train station in 20 minutes walk. The old town square is 30 minutes away. Walkers, like my wife and I will enjoy this location. Unfortunately, We never had anyother meals at the Hotel restaurant as smoking was allowed in the bar part located adjacent to the Hotel lobby. One smoker was enough to smoke up the restaurant and the lobby. I made a comment to that effect at the reception on our departure.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

prague is briliant as a one off visit, very little info in english at some sites. n most locals seem to have difficulty with english langauage, selectivley!!! can eat cheap or as expensive as want to, average £20 for two, careful with taxis from airport, can get ripped off, best to use metro to devika then bus to airport works out cheaper,

Tiny but good

I went on a trip around Prague. This hotel is located a little bit in an isolated area. However, that's why the circumstance is very good as everything is quiet, so I felt as if I were a resident in Prague. The homemade styled breakfasts tasted so good. Regarding the reception and the room service, no complaint. The room is narrow though I chose "superior double" but I think it's normal compared to those of other European cities and cleanness of the room is worthy of mention. 7 min walk to a tram stop and 10 min to one of the main metro stations. Recommendable one.
