Excellent staff/Good location

Overall it was really nice. Very good breakfast. Located in decent location...safe and clean. Check out the huge cemetary ... (the most beautiful and peaceful in all of Europe I've been to)--just north of the city on the bus
Traveler type: Single
The street trams are very easy to use, you can get anywhere in a short amount of time. One main stop is just down the block.

Good for a weekend stay

The Laguna is a 3 block walk from the tram, which can take you anywhere in Zagreb. Arriving from the train station proved to ... be easy. The English-speaking staff was courteous and helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived in the early afternoon, and was clean and basically equipped. Nice towels and a cute bathmat with little bare feet outlines. The room was a nice size, facing the parking lot and basically quiet once the buses got parked in early evening. TV reception included a couple of English language channels which was nice. A computer was available in the lobby for a charge. The breakfast served in the huge dining room had typical fare like yogurt, granola, cold cuts and pickles, but also scrambled eggs and some sweet rolls. Service starts at 6:00am, which was nice for our early departure. The lobby gift shop sells both postcards and stamps.
Traveler type: Couples
It's a short walk to the tram (3 blocks) which will get you to the center of town (Ban Jelacic Square) in about 10-15 minutes. There's a market every day with food and souvenirs and the usual collection of museums and old churches. A nice wide pedestrian street with lots of cafes for drinking coffee and watching people feeds into the square.
