Hot in Zagreb
The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. We were able to have 2 adults and 3 young children in the family suite which was nice. Tons of tour buses dropping off groups at the hotel so check in and out was slow. Must pay for parking at the hotel. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room was not working! We told the hotel and they sent maintenance workers to fix it but it was still very hot. Perhaps the AC just doesn't work well at the hotel?! The location is a quick cab ride into the heart of Zagreb (cost about 25 to 35 kuna or $5 to $7).

Great staff
Hotel is located in a 8-10 min walk from the train. We got used to the walk after the first day. Our initial room had a problem with the toilet flush and we were immediately offered a better room. The staff was helpful and let us keep our large suitcases for 9 days while we toured the county. This was much appreciated

Spacious Room, Value for Money
Efficient front desk staff, especially [...] was excellentand helpful. At 74,00 USD good value for money. Nice large room, with free internet connection. Restaurant very expensive. Roomservice delivered either cold food or not at all. ([...] solved this in a most professional manner)

When travelling from airport to Zagreb Centre or Hotel, take the shuttle bus. Frequency is good and price is fair. Taxis are expensive in Zagreb and drivers like to rip of their passengers

I have to admit that I was a little
I have to admit that I was a little weary of staying here given the completely inconsistent reviews I had read about the place! However, I reckoned the deal I got through HotelClub would more than make up for any disappointment. And the hotel did not disappoint! OK, a little far from the city centre, but only six stops on the tram! Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was decent. In a nice little area as well, with some good cafe bars nearby. All in all, I would recommend.

This hotel is far from the city
This hotel is far from the city centre and it's very outdated. The service is good but the rest of the hotel needs a serious makeover.

Four Points = Four Stars
Had a difficult time communicating in English at the reception desk - although she made a noble effort. Was supposed to get a non-smoking "Family Room" for 3 adult friends and walked into a smoking room for two people. However, one call to the front desk and we were immediately given two GORGEOUS non-smoking suites at no extra charge!

Entertainment tip:
Long walk from hotel
The receptionist said it was a 25 min walk to the city center of Zagreb so we drove. Come prepared with a GOOD map, as we had a very difficult time navigating with the tourist map they provide. Also, parking is hard to find the closer in you get to the city center and the parking meters run late so bring lots of change. It's 6 Kuna per half hour and you can only pay in increments of 6 Kuna. We had a difficult time finding a store to make change.

Avoid, unless you enjoy hagling
We stayed in this hotel on two occasions, first was planned and even though it wasn't remarkable, we chose to come back for second stay because we fell ill (food poisoning) and were in the need of quick stay to recover for two days. Rooms are small and bathroom smelled moldy and not very well vented. Beds were NOT comfortable, def not 4 star hotel class. The only advantage was Internet access (wired). During first stay there were few omissions on the part of hotel staff (failing to explain their parking policy, which cost us double the parking fee) and almost double charged us, but we spotted it on time. Second stay was a disaster. We asked them to pick up our laundry for washing and staff came (after two phone calls) and just took our bag w/o any further info. Upon checking out we were presented with HUGE laundry bill (around 150$. We couldn've purchased the NEW clothes for half of that price tag). We were told those were their prices and we should have read the price list before asking for the laundry service. We agreed, but there WAS NO PRICE LIST anywhere in the room. We looked for it everywhere, even though we were sick. They called for manager, who told us sorry but you have to pay. Then after further discussion manager sent the staff member into our room and "produced" the price list which wasn't there at all. Very convenient. Manager said she can give us 15% discount, then 20%, then 30% - we felt like we were hagling over the price like we were in the back alley buying some stolen goods. Outrageous. They also tried to overcharge us (again) on room bill. Even though our reservation was thru [...], they tried to charge us directly and their rates were 30% more than [*]I hate to use this term, but in this case, hotel staff was behaving as such. We would definitely NOT consider staying there ever again.

Surprisingly Nice Property
This is a very nice property in a good location that adds up to a very good value. I needed a good base from which to go out and do some self-guided walkabouts of Croatia's Capitol. The hotel has everything I needed eventhough I spend most of my time elsewhere. After a long day, it is a very nice place to return to in Zagreb.

Short walk from hotel
There is plenty to see and do just by going out the front door, turning right and then right again back toward the city center. Fabulous microbrewery named Slatno Pivo about 6 blocks back toward the city center that also has quite decent food too. Big outdoor soccer stadium even closer and an open air market perfect for picking up those "bring something back for me" items at a really good price. Best of all, plenty of cafe's along the way to stop and take a break in.
