If you're looking for a bargain while in Dubrovnik, this is a great place. Just don't compare it to an American "three-star".
We stayed here for one night while we took a side trip from Split, so the price was the most important to us. We are
also used to staying in a variety of accommodations in Europe. This hotel really was very nice by European standards.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was on a cute promenade and close to a bus stop that dropped you off at the old town in about 10 minutes (and the bus ran every ten minutes.) The room was well-air conditioned, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was varied and good.
For Americans, the room may feel small. The soap for the sink and shower was in a wall-mounted soap dispenser. The shower could have used a little updating and leaked a little. This is all typical for this type of hotel in Europe and did not diminish our stay at all.
The only downside is our room was directly above the restaurant/bar and was a little loud. This could be remedied by asking for a quiet room.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Long walk from hotel
Go to the Old Town after 4 pm when the crowds have died down and the sun isn't as hot. You can take the 6 bus directly to the Old Town.
Great location for beach, public transport, close to the old city, lots of eateries, tennis, beautiful tree lined traffic free boulevarde, only shame is computer for guests use was down the whole stay (6 days)
The hotel is only 2 minutes from Lapad beach. It is 5 minutes from the bus stop where you take the number 6 bus to Dubrovnik Old Town.
We are at the hotel one evening and the food was good and reasonably priced.
The room was ok but nothing
special. It was on the third floor and no lift so you has to be reasonably fit!
Plenty bars in the area. Lapad beach is a pebble beach but very nice.
The room was average, nothing too good or bad to speak of; but the location was disappointing. It was on a tourist trap strip of hotels, each with its own extremely overpriced restaurant with tables in the front. It was a 10 minute (12 kune
one-way) bus ride away from Old Town where reasonably priced apartments could be rented. The charming Old Town fortress had better and more reasonably priced restaurants and night life within steps.
