Can't say enough good things about this hotel.
If you're going to stay here, get the room with a sunset view, you will be just steps from the beach sand and you won't regret paying the extra money. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast buffet was a nice addition. After seeing all the other hotels and locations, I believe this one to be the best. Other reviews said it was noisy but thats because they went during peak spring break season (March, April). I went during the slow season (May) and it was quiet and empty, had all of Tamarindo to myself. If this is you're first trip to Costa Rica, I highly recommend staying here, they will help you plan everything out and make your stay easy and stress free.

Eat at El Pescador. They have the freshest and best tasting fish. Get the Casado with pescado (fish) fillet. It's the best bargain at around $8. The servers there are some of the nicest people I've ever met and the location is amazing.

Amazing Vacation
My Girlfriend and I stayed at the Diria and loved our stay there. The location was ideal, right on the beach with a great tropical pool with swim up bar. Right in the center of Tamarindo so everything was an easy walk away. The food was good and our room near the tropical room was very clean and updated. Amazing trip, wish I could have just stayed there for a long, long time.

first time in Tamarindo
The hotel's location was amazing and our experience was excellent however, the bathroom had some black mold and the shower was small with warm water being scarce. That said, you can't be the sunsets from your balcony or the lawn! We would go back!

FRIENDLY STAFF & PERFECT LOCATION
Smack dab in the heart of Tamarindo, which is where you want to be because taxis are expensive! Get ocean front view not Poolside. Great swim up bar & pool. Got everything you need at fingertips @ Hotel & really no need to leave - surfing lessons, massage on beach, jet skis & beautiful beaches. Hotel ambiance at night is fun, mellow - yet somewhat lively, but not overly loud. Was a good time, most especially since hotel was directly on the beach!

Bachelor Party
Everything worked out pretty well. We just used it as a place to sleep and not to party. The location on the beach is excellent. The staff at breakfast was terrible, dirty tables, had to ask for everything and they took forever...

Great romantic getaway!
The staff at the restaurant and the tourist trip desk were the most friendly staff we have ever met. The staff at the front desk could have been a bit more friendly, sometimes they came off as too busy to help or answer questions. The hotel was in the utmost best location, around other great restaurants and bars. It was right on the most beautiful beach with so much to do, horseback riding, jet skiing, even boat rides to see wild life! We must say that our favorite place to be while in Costa Rica was the resort itself. The beach, pool and the El Diria restaurant had wonderful food and such an exquisite view. The resort has the most wonderful wait staff who were nothing but helpful and courteous to us. Overall we highly recommend El Diria resort and will definitely be back sooner than later!

Utilize the hotel to book day trips. They offered so much to do for a reasonable price. There was anything from 2 hour boat trips to view wildlife to full day trips to Nicaragua.

Great location, fun stuff to do and a fantastic view
I stayed at this hotel for 1 week with my husband and 8 year old son. We had a great time at the hotel AND in the town of Tamarindo, which is walking distance. This hotel is right on the main drag, so if you do not like lots of people, it may not be for you. There are many dining options outside of the hotel. We did zip lining, horseback riding and surfing. All of these activities were close to the hotel. I wouldnt recommend this location if you plan to go to the volcano, since it is a 4 hour drive on bumpy roads. We were happy as clams staying 8 days in Tamarindo! Best views I have EVER SEEN! Get an ocean view room, its WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Near perfect
Hotel grounds are stellar. Location is awesome. Rooms clean on par with a focus on conserving water and resources if you want. The A/C was a bit noisy and not super cold, but wasn't a big issue to us. Security seemed very good although a person two doors down claimed to have been robbed, but not sure of the actual complete story. We had a great time and was completely happy with the establishment.
