Nice Hidden Treasure

Although not on the beach, this hidden gem offers some nice accommodations for the price. The pool and restaurant areas were awesome and very nice alternative to the beach. The grounds are well kept, and there is a nice 100M path down to the main drag, putting you dead center in Tamarindo. The staff was very nice, and sociable. If you have a choice, upgrade your room. Unless you're on a budget, there lowest room was too small for our liking, so we upgraded. Although a bit musty, had more room, and nice bathroom with concrete tub. There was a bit of construction going on next door, which is no fault of the Hotel, but that made it a bit noisy at the pool. Overall a nice hotel for those opting to save a bit a cash.

Honeymoon in Paradise

My husband and i came here to celebrate our honeymoon. We stayed here for 6 days in Jan 2012. We flew into Liberia airport which is approx. a little over an hour from Jardin del Eden in Tamarindo Beach. When we arrived to the hotel, we received vouchers for free welcome drinks that were mixed fruit smoothies and were delicious. Hotel Room: Our hotel room was on the second floor which had a nice ocean view, the downside was there was a huge palm tree covering most of it but were still able to see the beautiful ocean so it wasnt that bad. Also, it was about a 5 minute walk to the beach which we had to hike down to, walking past the pool and through the lush gardens through the private access walkway that required you to enter with a key (which was safe) Staff: The staff was super friendly. From the reception to the restaurant to the maintenance to the in house tour booking staff. Nancy and Indira at the reception desk were always helpful if we had any questions. Brian at the bar/restaurant was super cool and made the best drinks. Alonzo and Dee from Coco tours was excellent. We booked most of our tours through the hotel which was called Coco tours that provided transportation to and back along with a tour guide. But check around town or across the street before booking for best prices as we found some places had better deals and offered more variety of activities to do. Restaurant: The breakfast was free for us and offered fresh fruit, juice, eggs and cereal. You could pay more to order other stuff. It was the same every day. The desserts were good. We did not eat here for dinner as there are tons of places to go on the main street. The Pool: We never went swimming at the pool since the beach is located directly across the street. At times we wanted to but felt ackward since no one else was swiming (we never saw anyone in the pool) but plenty of people were sunbathing and reading there books so it made more sense to just swim at the beach. Beach (Playa Tamarindo) Be careful as my husband was stung by a jellyfish and after going to the doctor in town ($50 fee) he told us that what we need to be worried about are the sting rays that hide directly below the sand, if bitten- hurts pretty bad. The kids on the beach charge you to use the beach chairs and umbrella which i thought was a ripoff at first. But after going to the beach early one morning, i noticed these kids get here early to dig up holes to stick the umbrellas in, which is labor intensive and drag the chairs from there vans so its worth it to pay them considering the chairs are there property and your stuff will be safe. There are all kinds of people selling stuff on the beach from cigars to pottery to souveniers and plenty of restaurants to eat at (the beach club was awesome). Hotel: We're a young couple and the majority of people staying here are in there 50s and 60s so if you're planing on looking to party at your hotel or be loud and obnoxious or hang out with a bunch of young college kids, this is not the place to stay. We choose to stay here since it was quiet and extremely peaceful. You can always walk into town to party and have a good time only to return to serenity and knowing there wont be anyone at the hotel to disturb your sleep. The wifi had a pretty strong signal which we were able to connect to from our balcony. If you dont bring your phone or ipad, you can use the hotel computers for a small fee ($3/30mins). Overall, the hotel was well taken care of with manicured gardens, very clean and safe with polite and friendly staff. Directly across the street from Playa Tamarindo Beach in the center of town. It was an overall great experience.

GOOD COUPLE RETREAT...

THE HOTEL IS NOT SUPER BIG, MAKING IT A BIT MORE INTIMATE FOR COUPLES LOOKING FORWARD TO SOME REST AND RELAXATION. THE LOCATION WAS FANTASTIC, YOU ARE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE BEACH, THE TAMARINDO SHOPPING CENTERS ASWELL AS THE BARS AND RESTAURANTS. GOOD EXPERIENCE, I WOULD DEFINITELY CONSIDER GOING BACK.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

WHEN PURCHASING SOUVENIRS, DON'T SETTLE ON PURCHASING AT THE FIRST PLACE YOU VISIT, WALK AROUND AND YOU WILL NOTICE THAT SOME PLACES OFFER WAY CHEAPER PRICES THAN OTHERS.
