Beautiful Oasis

Jardin del Eden provided my boyfriend and I the perfect getaway. It was close enough to town yet far away enough that we felt we had our own little slice of paradise. Sadly, toward the end of out stay, we learned that the beachfront resort (Tamarindo Diria) bought out the hotel and it will be reconstructed as part of the resort. Nevertheless, great staff, great location, beautiful grounds! We will definitely be returning to Tamarindo.

Great beach vacation

We had a comfortable stay at this hotel. The grounds were great and the rooms are spread apart so there is no need to worry about noise. There is a private pathway that leads to the best beach we have ever been to. It's perfect for swimming, boogie boarding, and surfing. The tours lady was helpful. I will stay here again in the future. Only 4 stars because the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner because of renovations that will be done soon.

Good value for money

We booked a regular room ($90/day) and stayed at the hotel for seven days. The room was very small (barely any space to put luggage), very basic with a tiny and what looked like a 20 year old TV (with most channels in Spanish only). We saw a few ants here and there, but not too many. On a positive side, we had an AC and a balcony. Fortunately, we barely spent anytime in the room so it's size and overall appeal didn't bother us too much. The hotel does offer bigger rooms (with several options to choose from depending how much you want to pay#. Hotel grounds are really nice- two pools, restaurant and a private walkway to the main road #which is right on the beach#. Room rate comes with breakfast which was great. Apparently the restaurant although located on the resort premises is separate from the hotel. We ate breakfast there every day #we loved it# and had lunch there once #good reasonably priced large portions). Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotels, would stay there again.

Beautiful relaxing grounds & great location

We stayed at Jardin del Eden in July and were impressed. There were so many choices in Tamarindo so I had a difficult time choosing which to book. The road leading up to the hotel is pretty rough, but we were able to manage in our Toyota Yaris. Check in was easy and someone carried our bags up the room. The stairs leading to the room were narrow, but not difficult. There was a nice locked area to park our car near the room. There are many different buildings and levels, so some are a short walk to the lobby or pool. The room was clean and simple. The AC worked well and there were two high power ceiling fans. We only had one small cockroach in the shower... but it's the tropics so that isn't too bad. You won't want to spend much time in the room once you see the pool and grounds. We spend many hours sitting under the umbrellas at the pool and on the hammocks. We saw a family of monkeys walk through the pool area and hangout in the trees next to the restaurant and bar. The short walkway from the pool leads right into town, and you can cross the street and head to the beach. There is Wifi, but it really only works in the lobby and restaurant. The drinks at the bar were good, but the menu is limited. The breakfast included was also not as complete as other restaurants, but was adequate. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for the price and location.

Honeymooners Week

Great location and great staff. This hotel could use updating to the rooms and beds. One of the best restaurants in town and a very nice, clean pool! Landscaping was very beautiful and well maintained. Had a great stay!

internet lies

Probably the worst bed in any hotel in sixty years. No fridge, microwave, coffee or tea in room. Shower had to be hand held. Wireless only in lobby and restaurent. Two old computers in lobby but had to pay to use the junk. The pool was good and the breakfast was verry good. Would we stay there again? Never

A quiet paradise very close to the beach

We stayed for three nights and had a great time. The hotel is quiet and well appointed. The upgrade to ocean view was worth the extra charge. Pool area is a great place to relax after a day at the beach. Do NOT miss the hotel restaurant. The Filet's and the Jumbo Shrimp are to die for and very reasonably priced.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

If you book the basic room and the hotel is not full, they can sometimes upgrade to an ocean view room for a very small upcharge (Ours was $15 per night). Ask the desk clerk.

For the price, better off staying at the best western

On the off season I was given a room with no view, even though the hotel was empty. maybe the reception people didn't like me or I looked like I didn't have the money to pay for the upgrade. But here is what the clincher was: I was traveling with two young children. When traveling with young children it is always nice to have a hot shower and a clean room. There was no hot water, and the room smelled like a hundred cans of bug spray were emptied into it. And even at that, there was still an army of ants, literally, crossing the room in search of food. If it hadn't been for some really good staff (except the person in reception who neglected to give me the upgraded room, even though I had asked for it!), this stay would have been miserable.
