Beautiful resort hotel in a beautiful setting
The location of this resort hotel is perfect for having just arrived in San Jose, or for departing Costa Rica the next day. It is only 3 miles from the airport. A taxi should cost about $10-12. The hotel is beautiful as are the grounds. The rooms are beautifully decorated. When the air conditioning turns on, you hardly notice it. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in . . . and I am 60 years old, and slept in hundreds of different beds. The grounds are so immaculately maintained that you want to walk around just to appreciate how nice things are. We were there for a "mexican buffet". Wow . . . what a great variety and all of it meticulously prepared. There were many families there, but it is easy to find private areas, and the rooms are virtually soundproof. The very best part of it all was that we were able to get us a room for much less than the rate advertised on the hotel website. People checking in next to us were paying almost three times what we were paying.

Excellent hotel
Everything at the hotel was perfect. Although the food menu at the hotel restaurant didn't have many dishes, the few they had were really good.

A beautiful tropical paradise with a temperate climate
This beautiful hotel had all the amenities and excellent service. A wonderful pool with a view of palm trees and distant mountains, close to excellent restaurants. A very responsive hotel staff. Tour services were top notch to the many beautiful locations in this remarkable country. I attended a conference and the room was well appointed and comfortable. The food in the retaurant was expensive but high quality, and the staff readily recommended local alternatives. The hoel deserves its four stars. A fine family vacation spot to which we would gladly return.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
The trip to San Jose is well worth the taxi fare. At the city market we bought all of our gifts for friends and family at a fraction of the hotel gift shop. The city felt safe during the day although there were few tourists, as this is primarily an eco-tourism country.

Relaxing stay with great service
Great services and food. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Room and restaurants were quiet and relaxing. Food served was above average; buffets offered lots of variety and servers were great. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly and followed through with offers to help us locate some lost items. Distance is close to airport but not so close and away from air traffic patterns that you don't hear noisy planes. There are no stores in close walking distance. We left ipads, expensive cameras, and computer out in room and never had any issues with theft. Prices of souvenirs in hotel store were overpriced but that is pretty normal.

Wonderful!!
I enjoyed every moment at the Marriott Costa Rica. Initially, I reserved another hotel for my return , after my experience here I changed that reservation to the Marriott! I Kuo Spa is world class! I thoroughly enjoyed the Tierra Journey body treatment. I also had an antioxidant facial that was fabulous! The service by the pool was terrific, i had fresh watermelon juice and the ceviche which were excellent! Thank you Marriott! peace sara

Nice Way to Wind Up
We chose this hotel because it was near the airport and we had a day to kill waiting for our flight home after a more than a week on the Osa Peninsula. The hotel has a beautiful pool and grounds, a couple of restaurants and a bar -- all which were perfect for our needs. The hotel and its grounds are quite pretty and well maintained. The service was efficient and polite. One small complaint - the $15/day charge for internet access seemed excessive, especially as it was provided for free the two other places we stayed. However, I should mention that the Hotel business center did not charge us to print our boarding passes for our flight home.

my experience at the marriott in costa r
The location is 2 miles from the airport and the charge was 8 dollars. The receptionist were very friendly and the room was clean and nice. The Marriott was built having the missions style. The food was good and we liked the ceviche. Computers were available for 5 dol for 30 minutes. We booked tours from the hotel, however because of the hotel location, one way drive was between 2.5 and 4 hrs.
