My First Thanksgiving Away!

Upon arrival to the Hotel I found it to be clean and well lit. Hotel Staff were great, they answer all my questions with a polite and welcoming response. After the first day requested an Iron and Board to press my clothes and found that within 5 min. They were at my room with it. The FREE breakfast each morning was very pleantiful, they made sure if what you didn't see in the buffet table and want they can make it for you, they seem to what to go the extra mile. Staff is aware of the surroundings of the community and made some suggestion as to what to see with regard to tours available within San Jose. That went as well for the Tours they offer for extreme sporting, such as Strip Line canopy tour to checking out the local volcano's bit pricey but worth it if never been done. I might add with these tours breakfast and lunch are included. Last but not least there is always a dark experience, mine was I just gotten off the tour and heading back to the hotel and when I discover I left my Iphone on the tour bus, I asked the Hotel staff if they can locate the tour guide (Alberto) and let him what happen. After contacting the tour guide service, I was told they found the Iphone and he will return it to me, all this happen with a 20 min start to finish. High praise for there generiosity. I suggest if its your first time going to Costa Rica and want to be at the heart of its people and museums, El Presidente is the Hotel to do it. Thanks for giving me and my love such a nice experience.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

AT the El Mueso of Cost Rica just foot steps from the museum, at what appeats to be shanty type row of huts is there Mercado of trinkets, etc.best pricing for stuff to bring home for the experience. On the other hand just directly across the street is the Hut type place to eat called "Nuestra Tierra" do not eat there overly price for fajitas, chicken, beef and pork for two person. I'm not cheap but a glass of wine and cup of coffee, should not come out to a total of $65 +, save your money and look for plenty of side streets fair for a lot less $$

Great Value

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great . There is a 24hr restaurant on the corner that offers great local food. The one down side is the walls to the room are thin so you can hear people walking outside in the hallway very clearly.

Beautiful Hotel

the hotel was beautiful and the staff very helpful, the only problem is location, difficult to find if you are not a native. San Jose is a difficult city to drive in as there are no street signs...lots of one ways and road construction, even with a gps hard to get into and out of...but the hotel was great . We arrived so late at the hotel due to delayed flight, about 2 in the morning but the hotel staff was there and even upgraded our room...nice touch

Ok but not 4 star in western terms

Not much of interest around the hotel. Room spacious, but otherwise ordinary. Bathroom needs serious updating. No real casino. Staff helpful. Bar and restaurant part of lobby. Breakfast not very good.
