Apartment-style hotel in San Jose near La Sabana Park
Located in the Sabana Sur neighborhood, just a couple blocks from La Sabana Park, the Hotel Colaye offers affordable guest rooms and extended-stay apartments with great amenities just a few miles from many downtown attractions. Great Hotel!
This hotel is a great! It has everything you need it's clean the staff are very pleasant they offer many tours if your interested in going to the rainforest or volcanos which are great. They are in a nice location about a 10min. drive to the city. If your on a budget and looking for the basics then I would choose this hotel.

They don't have a gym but the sports park is a block away. They have a track, basketball courts, soccer fields, and a little pond to walk/ jog around.

Excellent location and helpful staff
I was satisfied with my choice. It was located steps from where I had some work to do the room was very clean and the staff were helpful. Breakfast can be better.

very nice, great value
Very clean roomy rooms, friendly staff, ok breakfast included and a clean nice size pool. The outside surroundings were kind of shabby, hotel was very inexpensive and about 9 miles from airport. Close enough to the center of San Jose without the high cost. We just needed a place to spend the night and clean up after traveling all day then be on our way to the beach cities. This was just the perfect spot.

Hidden, but nice
The hotel was difficult to find. No street signs, the hotel sign was small and unlighted (it was night when we tried to find it). I had to get a McDonald's bicycle delivery man to show me where it was, and then ask another 2 people to finally find the hotel. The restaurant does not serve a full menu at night. The rooms were clean and the hotel well-maintained. Check-in was difficult because they had no record of our reservation. This was cleared up after showing a receipt. The staff were friendly.

Close, but no cigar
The hotel was not well marked by a sign. The clerk didn't have our reservation from [...] and I had to show a copy of the receipt.The room was clean and quiet, but the restaurant didn't have an evening meal. A McDonald's and a fried chicken place were close, as were a small Chinese restaurant and a sandwitch shop.It is close to Highway 1 and the Caldera Highway, but does not have anything to direct the visitor to the hotel, no street signs, etc. The small sign was not lighted and even when pointed out, was hard to see.Once there, the hotel was pretty good with an adequate breakfast bar. There was no restaurant open during the evening hours and the area is not the greatest.

If you're looking for a great location in San Jose, go elsewhere. If you're looking for a pretty good deal, this isn't bad, but be ready to have to ask for directions from someone at the McDonalds who delivers in the area...

Hotel Colaye

My sister and I were in Costa Rica for significant dental work. Taxi was reasonable to and from the dental facility. Complimentary airport pick up and return was very helpful. Snack bar has sandwiches and salads that were very good. Local AM/PM market had wonderful avacados and mangoes. Front desk was very helpful in helping to navigate the free PCs in the lobby.

Rafa and Diana's Honeymoon
Very Nice Place!
Seriously...this place is or is like brand new!!!!! Beautiful pool, beautiful place. The animal hospital next door was never and issue, and we were on that side of building with window open all the time. The ONLY problems we had were no refrigerator, ice machine or air conditioner (but never needed air)! Initially, we only booked one night because you never know what your getting until you're there. So after checking out and staying with friends a couple nights, we went right back to spend the remainder of our honeymoon there! We just bought a little ice chest and we were set!
