Colors Oasis Resort, your home base to explore the "Wilds of Costa Rica", was the first, largest & only of its kind in the capital city, designed for the deserving gay and lesbian guests and their friends & family. Varied rooms. - all richly furnished in contemporary style plus tropical adventures offered from the front door. Experience this boutique guesthouse style resort hotel serving "the gay community" & their friends - conveniently located on stately Boulevard Rohrmoser. The hotel is "inclusive"; therefore, straight-friendly but mostly draws gay men and (to a lesser extent) lesbians.
Stylish & intimate complex with all the amenities plus renowned attentive service. With this in mind, tours and activity packages are organized by staff utilizing special network of gay and gay friendly venues throughout the entire country to plan your individualized travel options. This free service may include beach and countryside hotels, transportation options including rental cars, airlines, private buses or drivers, day tours or overnight packages to offer you as much assistance as desired.
Colors originally founded 1983 in Key West, FL has since 1990 longstanding connections with most of the gay and gay-friendly establishments in the country; the friendly staff can give you good advice about where to go and what to do in Costa Rica.

Nice hotel, but prepare to pay a lot for cab fare
Nice and comfortable facility. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. Colours has all the basic amenities one would expect to find in a gay resort (pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar...). Unfortunately, its is not centrally located and the cost of cab fare is high.

Long walk from hotel
To save on cab fare, explore some of the restaurants on Rohrmoser Boulevard (there are several good options within walking distance).

Nice little boutique hotel, but not walking distance to anything
This hotel is in the Sabana neighborhood, but is not walking distance to anything so you have to take a cab to any points of interest in San Jose. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and allows you to meet other travelers. Nice pool, game room, restaurant/bar area. There is a restaurant around the corner, but other than that nothing else is close to the hotel.

Great Oasis
This was my first stay there. I will definitely be back. The friendly staff is definitely in the know about which clubs are good on what nights. The location is a bit out of central San Jose but that was fine as it was an easy taxi to the clubs and other attractions.
