Best Western San Jose Downtown

It was a typical motel type accommodation, in a very very bad part of town.

At first I could not sleep for two nights just because there was a mousse running around in my room after all it went into the garbage bag ,I killed it than everything went wonderful

Nice place in a bad neighborhood. Even the locals are afraid to go there after dark. Fortunately, taxis are cheap and plentiful. It is close to the center and to the bus stations. Nice staff, nice breakfast. Pool always cold. The free shuttle from the airport saves me almost half the cost of my first night's stay!

Kids stay free, There was many kids that they were NOT supervised, and they took over the Computers, the older ones took over the international phone line, I stayed there a few times but this one was BAD! No pick up from or to airport, breakfast was NOT as good as it used to be, kids take bread with their hands then put it back, that’s bad. If you are going to have kids they have to be supervised!

The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The concierge was great! Room was clean, well maintained. The only problem was the neighborhood was a bit dicey, and walking home at night made me uneasy, but nothing actually happened. Security was good.

The staff and the hotel couldn't be better. Local neighorhood is not that great, but it is only three blocks form the Aveneda Central and and the Mercado Central, and all the museums and other local attractrions are within walking distance. Nice clean pool, restaurant and bar. What else could one ask for ?

great hotel, but the Restrooms are TOO SMALL!!! shower has a problem with the heater sometimes it goes too hot n then too cold so u have to be carefull, the are is very bad hobos sleep right next to the hotel, the only reason i stayed in that are is because i had a car other wise i would of not stayed there, other then that clean rooms, nice staff

Food was Great but after staying at Best Western Irazu prior, this was a big let down. No internet in the rooms; No pick-up/drop-off at airport; even though their manual states coffee and supplies in room there was none and you had to be asking at front desk for some - then they gave you coffee alone with no cream/sugar. Area appears unsafe with people hanging out across the street from the hotel. If you are a single female, this is no place for you to stay as you will not be able to walk the streets around/nearby. This was a big mistake for me .

I have stayed at this hotel six times. It was always reliable and a good value. This trip, I found out they discontinued their free shuttle to the airport. They closed the cafeteria at 9:00 PM, fifteen minutes before I arrived. I was unable to get any food or beverage. The location is now very questionable, so I did not leave the hotel. There was a coffee maker in the room but no supplies. The rooms are clean and the staff friendly. But I will seek a better value elsewhere. I stayed here because of the brand name.

The hotel was decent, the restaurant was good. Specially the breakfast was really good. The staff was very polite and friendly. I also got a free complimentary drink coupon. The round trip shuttle service to airport is very convenient. Please be aware that the shuttle service is not through hotel. Its through Gray line. And the shuttle might not even have any logo or identification. There would be a person with your name sign waiting for you at the airport for pickup. The only problem with this hotel is the location. The neighborhood was pretty bad. I was there only for a night and totally avoided stepping out of the hotel.
