Great veiw vacation
Best way to get to the hotel is by cab--don't try it on your own unless you have GPS. None of the roads in Costa Rica have signs. In fact unless you know your way around, don't rent a car--cabs are cheap--and the car rentals rip you off for insurance even if you buy it before hand. The view from the hotel was stunning and the staff very polite and friendly. However, the bed was uncomfortable and noisy. Bathroom shower was large--4' x 3' but the bathroom sink was tiny and there was no counter space to store anything or electric outlets in the bathroom.

Birthday Getaway
The room was small, but clean. The view is amazing. Breakfast was included in the price; however, it wasn't anything to write home about: toast, jam, butter, oatmeal, boiled eggs, beans/rice, coffee, tea. There is NO SPA. The 'restaurant' is 4 round tables with chairs...menu only has about 12 items. What made the stay truly awful is that it is a very SMALL hotel...and the walls are VERY thin. You will hear EVERYTHING!!! If you're looking for peace and quiet, you may not get it if there are many other guests. Also, the last day of our stay the hotel had no water. We could not use the toilet, take a shower, brush teeth....NOTHING! The staff (and the owner) seemed unconcerned. They did nothing to rectify the situation and they even charged us for the bottled water we asked for (which we used for toiletry)! It was not a pleasant stay. I would not recommend this hotel.

Recommend, with some reservation
The staff were friendly and professional. I would warn that the hotel itself is very difficult to find. There is limited signage, and it's at the top of a mountain: great views, harrowing drive. My friend and I rented a car, and were lost for 5 hours trying to find the hotel the first day, periodically stopping to ask for directions, and it took us a couple days of getting lost repeatedly until we were able to drive straight to the hotel with all the confusing twists and turns. Google maps was not helpful because perhaps only 25% of streets are labelled. Once we got there the staff was nice and helpful. Continental breakfast left something to be desired: jam, bread, beans and rice, but the coffee was always stellar as was the fresh fruit.

very small room, poor breakfast an some things need moor cleaning (room and plates), orange juice is something like powder with flavor. Nice people (the owner)

It is very small
It has a great view of San Jose from mnt. You need a car as food and everything is down the mountain. It is very small and the staff seemed to be helpful. If you want to get away from town this will be great. I only had one night stay.
