- We are located 90 minutes South of the Liberia International Airport. From San Jose International Airport, you can take a short commuter flight to the Nosara or Tamarindo Airports. We are located in a small town called Marbella on a beautiful, pristine beach known as Playa Azul. Call us to arrange a shuttle or car rental.
A diamond in the rough! Getting here can be an adventure. A majority of the roads taken from the Liberia and San Jose International airports are paved. However, the gravel roads near the Resort can get bumpy. The roads should be fully paved in the near future!

Fabulous resort
The Sanctuary Resort is 2 hours drive from the Liberia Airport, but it is worth the drive. The Beach houses are great. The view of the ocean from the from porch is fabulous. The food was good. The pool was nice. The ocean is beautiful. The staff was great and very friendly. The first night we stayed in one of the hotel rooms. There was no view of the ocean. They moved us to a beach house, which was wonderful.

Rent a car at the airport with a GPS. The cab ride was $127.00 one way. The resort is isolated and you will need a car. Get a 4 wheel drive.
