Wonderful stay at Parador. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast every morning was incredible (eggs, rice & beans, cereal, yogurt, fresh tropical fruit, croissants, Belgian waffles, fresh juice, plantains, pancakes,
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. Saw lots of wildlife including sloth, monkeys, iguanas. Breakfast overlooks the Pacific. They have a complimentary shuttle 5 times a day that takes you down to the beach and picks you up which was very convenient. Tour desk next to the pool will get you on whatever activity you're looking for.
We booked a garden room but upon arrival were told they upgraded us to a superior room which was very nice. Room was lovely. King sized bed, mini fridge, soaking tub, balcony, desk, a/c and ceiling fan, safe in room, very clean.
As for LGBT, my partner and I felt a little closeted but more so because of the culture and not for any specific encounter. We didn't get any funny looks or feel we received any poor service as a result of our being together. If you're looking for a gay honeymoon spot though, Costa Rica may not be your best option.
Overall one of the nicest places my partner and I have stayed in! Wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, plenty to do, convenient location, good food. Would definitely recommend to fellow travelers.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Barba Roja (on road to Quepos) and La Luna (in the Gaia hotel) were both amazing. Soda Sanchez in Quepos had the best Casado (and much cheaper than any of the restaurants on the road up to Manuel Antonio).
