Romantic getaway
Excellent service, attentive staff, great spa, and so much to do both at the Hotel and in surrounding Manuel Antonio/Quepos area. We did a canyoning tour, hiked the preserve at Gaia and took a private tour of Manuel Antonio (4 of us and a guide, as opposed to 15 or 20 people and a guide with the other tours). Your hotel concierge will arrange everything and anything for you, and you pay one bill at the end of your stay. By day 3 or 4 we realized all we needed to do was hang out by the pool and we could see toucans, a sloth, and other exotic birds, all while sipping the cocktail of the day.

The best luxury hotel to stay in Manuel Antonio
Hotel is located in the touristy part - in the tourist oriented upscale part of Manuel Antonio. Very beautiful view and exceptional breakfast - i think those were the best eggs Benedict i ever ate. However food is pricey and if you want more local flavor you can go down to the city (hotel has free shuttle there) and try much cheaper local restaurants. Hotel has free shuttle to the beach as well. Rooms are comfortable, however bathroom is small and little weird - located on the side of the room with the sliding door like in a closet. Hotel has gorgeous infinity pool that overlooks the forest and the ocean. Stuff was very polite and helpful. Overall I think this is the best upscale experience you can have in Manuel Antonio.

Gaia hotel
Our stay at the gaia hotel far exceeded my expectations. The hotel was very quiet, clean and had many romantic elements. Latin guitar in the evenings, while enjoying drinks on the rooftop is a must! All staff went out of there way to be helpful. Each employee was able to speak English and always greeted us with a smile. All tours were booked by the front desk, with shuttles running promptly. You won't be disappointed, I promise!

Fabulous
Beautiful, well appointed, modern hotel at the top of a hill with great views. Staff is very attentive to guest's every needs -- each guest has a concierge. Rooms are beautiful and the beds are comfortable. Food is delish. If you don't have a car, they drive you into town or to the beach .. but only until 4:30. Very welcoming and willing to address all of your needs. I would definitely stay here again. A few negatives...could have more shelves in the bathroom for toiletries. We got a bit bored of the breakfast menu after 5 days. This is the worst I can say.

Short drive from hotel
Do the 10 adventure tour where you zipline, rappel and swim under a waterfall. Amazing. Worth every penny of the $130 per person. And it even includes lunch.

Splendid Costa Rica seclusion
Top-notch attention to detail; constant attention from the well-trained yet unobstrusive staff. The killer-views from the Luna Restaurant veranda was dreamy: treetops & long beach landscape bordered with dark green mountains Day-trips were effortlessly arranged. River rafting on Savegre River, Ocean kayaking & snorkeling, priceless snorkeling expedition to Isla del Cano was incredible, included a stop @ Corcovado National Park. A fantastic experience!

A wonderful expeirence at Gaia!!
I'm still not all that clear on the proper pronunciation of Gaia Hotel and reserve-- that aside it was truly an unmatched hotel experience. The service is not five stars-- it's six! The staff are friendly, helpful, and most importantly they adapt comfortably to their guests. You never feel like they are giving you five star service because they are paid to do so-- they do it because they are well versed in their personal skills and profession. The hotel itself is beautiful-- the views are amazing! The pool(s) are even more amazing! The location is also great, a bit off of the beaten path (although we were there doing the low season). All that said, the bathroom was a little on the small/ awkward size for a five star hotel. There were details that were missed, and given the extreme tropical climate things like paint, calking, hardware, et cetera, needed some attention. We will be back!

A complete luxury hotel
Gaia hotel provided an amazing week long vacation experience. Their concierge team booked and arranged transportation for a wide range of high quality tours - all at our request. They booked a Zipline tour, Surfing lessons, and even a local market tour for us. The reserve is a fantastic asset to the hotel, as it attracts a wide range of wild life. At the hotel we were able to see iguanas and Capuchin monkeys, right outside our room! Their free breakfast was amazing - I highly recommend the Italian Egg White fritatas. Be aware how ever that since they actually prepare the food for you, a quick breakfast is not usually an option. Near the end of our trip, we told the concierge we were looking for whole vanilla beans. They told us they weren't sure where to get them, and we thought that would be the end of it - but that same evening, they called our room to tell us that not only had they tracked the beans down, but they would send a car out to purchase them for us and bring them back to the hotel! Gaia is definitely a more expensive hotel, but the luxurious setting, the free transportation, the attention to detail, and the willingness of every member of the staff to go the extra mile, really make it a fantastic vacation choice!

Gaia's restaurant is amazing, but quite expensive. There are several decent eateries right outside the hotel, including La Hacienda and Marco's both of which aren't so pricey.

wonderful location, staff, and overall experience. my only gripe is that the water bottle served with dinner at the hotel restaurant cost $6 USD, which is a ripoff by any standards.
