Splendid Costa Rica seclusion
Top-notch attention to detail; constant attention from the well-trained yet unobstrusive staff. The killer-views from the Luna Restaurant veranda was dreamy: treetops & long beach landscape bordered with dark green mountains Day-trips were effortlessly arranged. River rafting on Savegre River, Ocean kayaking & snorkeling, priceless snorkeling expedition to Isla del Cano was incredible, included a stop @ Corcovado National Park. A fantastic experience!

Magical and Enchanting
This resort is Heaven on Earth. Where else are you personally greeted by one of the owners, and like Cheers, everybody knows your name? It is like lifestyles of the rich and famous without the yachts and private jets. The views are spectacular, and you have a private concierge assigned to schedule your tours and spa treatments. My room had been upgraded to a deluxe suite, with a living room, dining room, huge bedroom with a gigantic bed, and a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Watch the sun set form the restaurant while you sip on happy hour priced cocktails and some of the tapas (my favorite was the ceviche). If you can get up early, don't miss the nature reserve tour (complimentary) on the property. Danny has such great ojos (eyes) that see everything, and he'll help you take photos your friends will envy. If you only have time for a couple of tours, I recommend the Canopy ziplining tour and the Manuel Antonio National Park Tour. We saw a variety of monkeys, a Toucan, bats and sloths. Breakfasts are amazing, with the best coffee, fresh fruits and breads, and choices like the Costa Rican Breakfast: A delicious dome of local carmelized plantain strips, stuffed with steaming Costa Rican Gallo Pinto (black beans and rice in a blend of sauteed onions, sweet peppers and cilantro). It includes 2 eggs any style, with sour cream and corn tortilla wedges. You must be 16 or older to stay here.

Ask your concierge to schedule a cooking class at 11 or 4. For the price of your meal, you can learn how to cook, and actually assist in cooking an entree in the restaurant of the kitchen.

A wonderful expeirence at Gaia!!
I'm still not all that clear on the proper pronunciation of Gaia Hotel and reserve-- that aside it was truly an unmatched hotel experience. The service is not five stars-- it's six! The staff are friendly, helpful, and most importantly they adapt comfortably to their guests. You never feel like they are giving you five star service because they are paid to do so-- they do it because they are well versed in their personal skills and profession. The hotel itself is beautiful-- the views are amazing! The pool(s) are even more amazing! The location is also great, a bit off of the beaten path (although we were there doing the low season). All that said, the bathroom was a little on the small/ awkward size for a five star hotel. There were details that were missed, and given the extreme tropical climate things like paint, calking, hardware, et cetera, needed some attention. We will be back!

A complete luxury hotel
Gaia hotel provided an amazing week long vacation experience. Their concierge team booked and arranged transportation for a wide range of high quality tours - all at our request. They booked a Zipline tour, Surfing lessons, and even a local market tour for us. The reserve is a fantastic asset to the hotel, as it attracts a wide range of wild life. At the hotel we were able to see iguanas and Capuchin monkeys, right outside our room! Their free breakfast was amazing - I highly recommend the Italian Egg White fritatas. Be aware how ever that since they actually prepare the food for you, a quick breakfast is not usually an option. Near the end of our trip, we told the concierge we were looking for whole vanilla beans. They told us they weren't sure where to get them, and we thought that would be the end of it - but that same evening, they called our room to tell us that not only had they tracked the beans down, but they would send a car out to purchase them for us and bring them back to the hotel! Gaia is definitely a more expensive hotel, but the luxurious setting, the free transportation, the attention to detail, and the willingness of every member of the staff to go the extra mile, really make it a fantastic vacation choice!

Gaia's restaurant is amazing, but quite expensive. There are several decent eateries right outside the hotel, including La Hacienda and Marco's both of which aren't so pricey.

Excellent staff including tours of the on site nature reserve. Food and views at the La Luna restaurant are the best in town.

wonderful hotel!
wonderful location, staff, and overall experience. my only gripe is that the water bottle served with dinner at the hotel restaurant cost $6 USD, which is a ripoff by any standards.
