Tortuga Lodge & Gardens is situated on 146 acres of private land on Costa Ricas northeast Caribbean coast.
It sits well apart from other hotels, and right in the middle of the fascinating and unique environment of Tortuguero, just a short boat ride from the start of the famed National Park.
Tortuguero is a product of its rivers, and thus so too is Tortuga Lodge and Gardens. The lodge is designed to blend smoothly into both the river and the jungle. The open air restaurant, the naturally purified pool and the hammocks draped throughout the grounds all meld smoothly into the water flowing endlessly past. So smoothly that it will quickly become difficult to imagine one without the other.
Tortuguero can only be accessed by boat or by domestic or charter plane. Tortuga Lodge offers complete packages including round trip transportation, lodging, meals and excursions. Regardless of how guests arrive at Tortuga Lodge, the lodge line up on the dock and wave hello to arriving guests. You are offered a cold tropical drink and welcomed to the lodge.

TORTUGA LODGE AND GARDENS RESTAURANT
Open to the public with a reservation Roofed but open to the breeze and overlooking the river, it is a unique place to dine during both clear sunny days and tropical downpours. The unifying similarity behind the eclectic menu is our Executive Chefs skill at weaving the tastes and smells of tropical ingredients and traditional Costa Rican recipes into his dishes.
The Green Turtle Bar sits under the same roof and offers an excellent location for pairing a cold drink with a warm tropical night.
Important: Meals are not included in the room rate. A full meal plan which includes an a la carte breakfast, family style lunch and a la carte dinner is $63.50 (before taxes) and can be purchased upon check-in at the hotel. Because of the Lodges location, reaching other dining options requires a boat trip to town.
