Good Times!

The Borinquen is an AMAZING resort!!!!! The staff who work there attend to your every need and go out of their way to make sure your experience is unforgettable. By far the BEST staff at any resort I've ever been to. The views from the rooms are great and you will get to see the most amazing sunsets every night. The pool and spa amenities were awesome as well. I can't say enough great things about this place, it was worth every penny and I will recommend this resort to EVERYONE! Great place to relax and recoup!

AMAZING GEM

I booked this hotel on a whim, thinking it was close to the Liberia airport. It is fairly close, but not as close as i thought considering the poor road conditions. The hotel was gorgeous on a gorgeous mountainside and the rooms were all private, and beautiful, and modern, and comfortable. The grounds were amazing, with hot springs and complimentary mud to put on your body. Amazing pool and restaurant as well. I would highly recommend this resort. It is top notch!

We love Borinquen

We just spent two weeks at Borinquen and absolutely loved it. The staff from the management to the grounds keepers did everything they could to make our stay memorable. This is a five star resort. Our bungalow was spacious and elegant. The view was amazing. Restaurants are well appointed. Service was exceptional and prices fair. Room service was also well priced with your meals delivered within 15 minutes by ATV. Activities were plentiful and a lot of fun. Don't miss the zip lining and the horseback riding to the three waterfalls. The road into Borinquen is an adventure in itself. you definitely will need an SUV for the trip in. Liberia is one hour away with most of your time spent coming off the mountain. The weather was perfect. mid 80's during the day and low 70's at night. The beach area around Tamarindo was at least 10 degrees warmer and very humid. We would recommend this resort to couples or families interested in outdoor adventurers or just a peace full romantic getaway. We will definitely be back

Natural Perfection/ Mother Nature Paradise

Amazing Natural Beauty! Not much to do when raining all day! Zip Line is ultra Cool. Restaurant breakfast wonderful but dinner selections need improvement, especially desert options. Steam Room and hot spas very nice! Staff very nice and friendly.

Overall Positive

While I enjoyed my stay here I wouldn't go back. The positive points were the spa facilities. The mud and the natural steam and sauna we're really cool- a once in a lifetime experience. The rooms were also nice and I thought the food was decent - the breakfast was delicious. The only thing I didn't like about it is that the hotel itself is not Costa Rican. It's owned by a Cuban and the name Borinquen means a woman from Puerto Rico. The hotel decor feels as out of place as the name. The grounds, while pretty are incredibly manicured - it really feels like a golf course which is a shame given the natural beauty of the region.

Beautiful rooms but service lacks some attention

The hotel has very beautiful bungalow rooms. The service however lacks some attention. All in all however, it is a nice place to stay.
